To mark Best Response

I found that some of my friends mark Best Response after reading two or three replies. I think it is not fair. To me one should wait for other responders and after reading all the responses one should mark BR to a response of a discussion. Otherwise it will be injustice to other responders. Why we should be impatience ! It is better to wait and see.

I have also noticed that there are some people who pick the best response very quickly. I prefer to wait about a week before I choose the best response, that way many people have the chance to join the discussion before I make my decision. Sometimes I get a great a response on one of the last pages and if I have already chosen the best response I wouldn't be able to give the best response to that member. Sometimes I wait much, much longer than a week, because I don't go through the unresolved discussions every day. If I start many discussions it takes me a while to go through all of the old discussions and pick the best response and I still didn't catch up.

Hi Porcospino, I appreciate your attitude. Yes 'wait and see' is the best policy.

I agree with you. One should wait until nobody else seems to be replying to the disucssion, and then mark the best response then. In such a way one would be able to judge which is really the best response in a fair manner. I personally do not like to mark the best response in my discussions. This is mainly because generally there is more than 1 good response and I find it difficult to choose. Maybe there could be 1st, 2nd and 3rd best response options to add fairness

Yes grkelly, sometimes it is difficult to mark Best Response. But there is no option to choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd best response. So in that case it is better not to mark BR.

But it is still the prerogative of the one who made the discussion thread. Sometimes one may fell totally unfair, but for me, it doesn't really matter at all. If I see a discussion worth responding, I don't mind if the owner already had a best response to it.

i agree with you, it is important to decide whose respond is the best so we have more time to decide, right? i also think it is unfair for people if someone don't wait other responses. so i always wait for a long time and try to make me more fair.good luck!

I agree but some discussion only received one response or nothing at all. That's why they mark it as BR if they received 2 to 3 responses on their topic but I think they should let the day pass before marking someone's response as BR. If the topic is trending, maybe the Topic Starter (TS) should wait for at least 2 to 3 days to mark someone's response as BR but if TS do really think that "that response" is a BR, it is really up to TS when it comes to marking BR. Some people don't mark BR at all. Don't you think it is not fair too?

Yes it is up to the Topic Starter to whom he or she mark BR. But before marking the TS should wait for few days for more responses.

yeah i agree to you.i too often have faced this kind of injustice just for being late to commment.but it is also common taht people find some replies so good and awsome that they cant resist themselves to mark the respective response best though more usefull comments may comme in few datys but its nature that man is not passion.

If we feel a reply is awesome, still we should wait for the responses to come.

Yes I do agree that they should wait before marking best response. I think most of the people who do this are newer and don't understand still on what to do here. I give it at least a week before I pick the best response and if people are still responding, I will wait even longer. Everyone needs to give people a chance. Also, it's good to comment back on responses too because we do get paid for that and it makes for a much more fun discussion.

I appreciate your patience of waiting. For fair judgement we should do that.

hi bhanusb you are so right, I have seen some give b rs after having only post ed their discussion three hours before t his'is not fair as you should ideally wait a week as suggested by mylot admins in the guidelines, this way all our friends have chance to respond if they wish as not everyone is all here at the same time.,

I usually let several days go by. Then I choose. If I have allsimilar responses I choose the newbie to give encouragement to that person.

Hi bhanu, I too have noticed that some members mark best response far too quickly without giving enough time for others to post. One more thing is that many members dont want to post after they see that a BR is already given.I feel that we should wait for at least 2 or 3 weeks even longer before we give out BRs, all the best

Yes, I agree but sometimes it takes a lot of time to wait for responders. It just depends to the discussion maker. If he or she likes the comment, why not choose already. Others receive only one or two comments so what should we do? I've done done a few weeks ago. However, now I have some trouble choosing the best response especially when many mylotters respond to my discussion. I have to choose very well. Happy mylotting.

If we are in dilemma to select best response, then it is better not mark anyone best.

You are right this is not fair after reading two or three responses select best response. I selected 6 months after means getting more responses. Some time I wait till 1 year because may be deleted some discussion so waste to select the BR.

You're right. I've seen discussions where the best response is chosen right away and then many responses are added afterwards. Does anybody read the guidelines? It's not fair to other people. I've also noticed lately quite a few discussions on members' (understandable) annoyance at several things many other members are doing/not doing that they should/shouldn't do. What's happening in mylot? The senior members continuously post helpful discussions/responses. Does anybody read them? It's obvious the guidelines are not read much. Is this a new trend in mylot? Where nobody really cares? I know there are many that do, but I'm noticing lately there seem to be an abundance of those that don't.

Hi deazil, we should do fair treatment to everybody. There is no hurry to select BR. We can wait for the last reply, at least for few days. Mylot's guideline is important and we should follow that.

When it comes to marking the best responses I tend to leave it for a few weeks, as there will always be people that will respond a lot later to when you put the discussion up on here.I think that even a year later I have had some better responses that would deserve the best response to when i marked it.

Hahah....I wait to select the BR till 2 years and now start my all old discussions to select the best response and comment back on all. I have no such habit to select the BR after two or three responses.
