I don't have a hand vacuum or even a vacuum cleaner, so I would like to know how to remove cat hair from the sofa?

Any kind of tape will take cat hair off of furniture but a cheaper method is to get a sponge wet, wring it out so it's just damp and wipe the cushions lightly. The cat hair will roll right up and be easy to pick up and dispose. This method will also get any light surface dirt/dust off the furniture. I also do this on my carpeted stairs which is a lot easier (to me) than lugging around a big vacuum cleaner.

Well, if you don't have a hand vac I would just wrap some tape around my fingers with the sticky part out and use that. Or don't let them get up on the sofa. Our cats have full run of the house and we don't have a problem with cat hair. Maybe it is because we both have long hair and are used to that.

it is impossible to keep them off the sofa, we have an open living room so they are on the sofa even when we sleep.

i agree with gifts. Tape is the way to go. use a wide type of masking tape, then it will go faster because you will pick up more hair that way.

I've tried different things like special pet brushes to remove the hair and its all a waste of money. If you dont have a vacuum cleaner then all you need is some kind of tape. The wider the better. Wrap it around your hand and have the ends touch then just go around with your hand and use it to get the cat hair off. Takes a lot of tape if there is a lot of cat hair but it works great. Luckily my cat sits on a blanket on my couch so she only gets cat hair on that and then I just keeps changing it to a new side until its so full of cat hair that theres no clean side then I throw it in the wash. I made the mistake once of throwing it in with all our clothes and oh my gosh cat hair was on everything after washing it. Now I wash and dry it seperately.

I cover my furniture too, because not only do my cats shed, they drool. It saves a lot. I put a queen sized fitted sheet over the recliner, it fits really well.

mine sleep on the top of the sofa, not the sofa cushions.

I'm not sure how a fitted sheet would look on a recliner but that really would make things a lot easier all you have to do is throw it in the wash and it keeps the furniture from getting covered in cat hair or getting stained from all the drool. My son drools something awful so I know how that goes. On his pillow I put a waterproof cover and then I put three pillow cases on. He drools through two of them. Its gross. My husband drooled but I dont think it was quite that bad lol. I dont drool and thankfully neither does my daughter. Maybes it a guy thing and a cat thing haha.

We don't have animals in the house anymore but we used to in the other house. We have sticky thing on a handle. It's a kind of tape on a handle and you tear off the top layer when you get done. It got dog hair off our clothes and furniture.

One of the best things I have seen is to put on rubber gloves and rub your hand over it. It rolls up in little rolls and you can throw it away. It is a cheap alternative to vacuuming and I think it works better and faster. You can also roll tape loops or buy a lint roller.

Do you have some packing tape or masking tape or - heck - any kind of tape? spread it on the couch and pull up

Try duct tape. You can get it at the dollar store. I've not used it for cat hair but I imagine it would work. I use it for a lint remover and it is the best one I've found yet.

I.ve never owned a cat, but I have heard that if you take a towel dampen it and wipe against the grain, will remove the cat hair.. Good luck, because pet hair does not look good on clothing...
