on my just found an old discussion of mine "HappilyEverAfter is a Farirytale, right." I must have been in a sad mood remembering how lost I was when my hubby died of a heart attack brou ght on by smoking three packs of cigarettes a day., but the thing that really just now upset me was the whole page of responses made that I had never commented back on., However right after I had made that discussion I was living with my son in a two bedroom apartment when he was laid off his job, could not get any kind of job,we used up all our savings on rent and were evicted, I landed here at Gold crest and here remain,.my son is wo king now bu t not making high w ages so we cannot get me out of here into a 2 bedroom apt. so here I am. Going back on these old discussions can be fun or can be almost heart breaking your take fellow m lotters,. must one be b ave to tackle these old discussions?

Wow, that is a hard one, because this had to have happened before we connected and that was a while ago. You could reply, but realize some may not respond back due to not being here anymore.

hi yes after five years I just wondered if my comments were wasted but I felt so guilty for not having got back and checked when I got back on the net,b ut I was still feeling r eally bitter about the disruption in our lives not really a great excuse as I did owe my responders a comment. so I am not sure how many are still here after all that time., many names were unfamiliar to'me but I plugged along,.

Occ.asionally, I have gone back to old discussions and the memories have flooded back with renewed force. Nogt such abad thing to relive memories. I thought that you were going to talk about ther show called CATS. I took my daughter when she was about 6 years old to see the musical CATS. It was just magical and the cats came into the udience and one of them danced in froon of Rachel and sang to her. She has never forgotten this wonderful show in this incredibly ancient theatre, A beautiful memory you have evoked for me with your post Hatley. Thank you

My dad knew he was at a performance of Cats - No, he thought Andrew Lloyd Webber had nicked it from Puccini. He was half right. Once on a satirical radio programme here in the UK, they poked fun at Andrew Lloyd Webber for his tunes being so much like tunes that had been composed by others.

I wonder whether "Memories ..." would ever have been composed if Andrew Lloyd Webber hadn't heard Bolero and Madame Butterfly (The performance of Cats I attended was quite an early one, and David Cullen had cruelly orchestrated it in such a way that my late father leaned over to me and asked "Isn't this by Puccini?" - or words to that effect).

I remember you being evicted and us not hearing from you for a LONNNGG time. And I tell you, it still bothers me that you have to be in a home. I know it's good you're in a place that gives you shelter, but I hate that a fully functional person has to be in a home. We were all worried about you for a long time.

Mylot is a little like the old Pen Friends concept, isn't it? Only more versatile, easier and quicker. And less expensive.

hi john yes it is a bit like the old PenFriends concept which reminds me my grade school chum has found m e on the net she in South Dakota and I in Southern Calif. and she now refuses to email me personal things only because she learned I am a democrat, I feel so sad that damnable politics has to 'ruin an old friendship.we are both 85 and i was so pleased that she had contacted me,I could care less that we belong to different parties we were friends.

i john yes it really is and why? we are all Americans and all humans, I would have voted for Ron Paul had he made it. I never go near the politics interest as the only time I did I got so badly insulted i was in tears and oddly nobody ever deletes those insults.

Ironic, that, with the people in practical charge of both parties having gone so far down the chute towards totalitarianism. Other than perhaps the odd person like Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee (Sorry they're both Republican, but you can probably find the odd old fashioned Democrat who's also been sidelined), where, nowadays, will you find people like Roosevelt, McGovern, Ike, etc?

I belive old discussions bring back certain feelings and state of mind when you first wrote them. i welcome these memories, good or bad, as they are times of our life that reflect how we felt and times change but it is always good to remember bad as well as good times to keep us grounded. I think you are both brave and bold to go back to old pages from 5 years ago, not many of us would with such a conscience. Yet another feather in your cap. you continue to be a shining light in mylot.

oh my bagarad yes thats it we have to balance things or the pain will make us ill.I just remembered in the fifth grade our teacher asked us to write a diary of a woman back in the days of covered wagons who was moving to the western states in a covered wagon caravan. I did such a good job writing it and imagining her having lost a child and her husband on the way, and digging those graves then moving on, being attacked b y Indians but finally achieving their goal that she gave me an A plus and also had the principal check my grades I was then skipped from fifth grade to the seventh grade, also was skipped from seventh to ninth grade. I graduated at 17,

Well, there are a lot of discussions I have started in the 6 yrs. that I have been a member here. I am sure if I went back thru some of my discussions I would find a lot of them not responded back too, or given best responses. Sometimes I will revive them just to see if I can get any new responses, or other times just give a Best Response and often get New ideas for another discussion as well. But memories good or Bad they will always be ours.

I have not gone back to any really old ones, but I should. . . I know that there were lots I did comment on the responses, because I believed that the guidelines said not to. It took a lot of people a long while to prove me wrong. You are giving me an idea for part of this weekend.

Hello hatley looking to old discussions is like looking at old photos. Personally I feel sad to look personal photos because I always feel very nostalgic. And when I feel nostalgic I analize the goals I have achieved and try to feel faithful for the future. By the way I play on keyboard this song from Cats " Memories". Blessings Hatley... dainy

Hi Aunt Hatley! I think I remember that discussion. You were hurt and angry that your husband smoked his life away. That makes me sad too. It's never too late and go back and comment on it. Please don't feel so bad about this discussion getting list in the shuffle if your life's circumstances. You faced something that I feared myself. I feared being out out on the street. I was fortunate. I was out in s personal care home. I'm not there anymore but I was there for 7 months. The woman literally saved my life. She became my momma. I live her so much and thank her for the home she gave me as long as I needed it.

hi there my madam :) my perspective outviews of the matter pertaining of the discussion of life is that human should really undergo hardships in life to understand living the essence of it because triumph is much sweeter when can overcome shortcomings. so as i can see now, those were just bitter-sweet memories and part of the past and that even how painful those were, still we can make a smile through or faces because those people who were gone were being our better half. about your worries of not commenting back on the comment replies of the good fellows here, well, for sure, they do understood how busy you are in tending you activities in life or even at mylot. cheer my madam :) the world has best wishes for you. God bless :O)

I did finally get all those lost responses replied to although I do not know if they are still here the way people come and go now days.
