Give Me One Good Reason Why Mylot Is Better Than Facebook! LOL!

I have been a member here on Mylot for more than six years now, and to tell you the truth, I still can't figure out why...
Maybe it's the way that Mylot actually PAYS it's members, or maybe even the way that Mylot members came together to support one of our own, when her family faced an economic emergency- We helped her get to a place of safety and security again...
I know that I feel a very deep fondness for Mylot because of the many friends and lovers.. (just kidding) that I have met here.
I have not been here for a while- didn't even collect my earnings yet, but Mylot folks have always been close to my heart and mind.
My journey began with Apsense ( A damn good Business/Social network) which led me here in the first place and introduced me to "Social Networking " in general. I even thought that Mark Zuckerberg was crazy for turning down Google's 1.6 billion offer back then...
So what is the ONE REASON that makes Mylot a good place for you? Why does facebook have a billion members any way?
I would like to know why you enjoy Mylot instead of Facebook!

Because mylot members earn, and at facebook- only they earn there. Thats why Im here. Plus I meet more people here at mylot.

I've met some really excellent friends here at mylot and I always cherish my moments when I'm writing here...
I can't say the same for facebook, because their are a lot of different distractions that, oddly, keep people from socializing... The darn slot games for example...

First of all, I believe that they are two totally different types of sites. That's O.K. though. I can still make a comparison.
Facebook is huge. 
However, that's not always a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I sometimes think of it as an out of control monster. Facebook is often times making the national news. There are problems associated with it. Now, of course, some users can be very careless to say the least. For example, a member will be chatting with a friend saying that he or she will be leaving for vacation on such and such a date. Well, with security breaches, that information can easily leak to the entire community and guess what happens next? With the user's peronal information in jeopardy, everyone knows when they will be out of town and where they live.
I don't think that sort of thing has ever happened here on myLot. There are over 240,000 members here but I still consider it a small town compared to a seemingly more unrestrained city of Facebook.
I don't like the city. I love small towns and the country. Mylot is better because it's so much more like the small town.

Thank you, peaceful, I appreciate that. I, too, enjoyed reading your resonse. I've learned in life that bigger is not necessarily better. So what if facebook is as huge as it is. I'm not really impressed.

The main reason that MyLot is 'better' than Facebook is that MyLot and Facebook are completely different animals. You might just as well argue that Internet Explorer is better than MS Word (or vice versa) or try to claim that vegetables are better than meat!
I don't know why people persistently try to compare MyLot with Facebook. It makes no sense whatsoever. They are designed to do different things (and to do them pretty well). Facebook is a 'social site', NOT a discussion forum (though people certainly can discuss things there); MyLot is a discussion forum, NOT a 'social site' (though people can certainly 'socialise' here to a fairly limited extent).
Facebook has a large number of members because it is an easy way of sharing thoughts, photos and other media with a group of friends whom one usually knows; MyLot has a far smaller membership because there are not nearly so many people who want to be constrained to contribute to good quality discussions and, of those, who can do so with a reasonable facility in English.
I use both Facebook and MyLot but I use them for entirely different things.

I also wonder why they are always trying to compare the two , are they trying to convenience somebody here ??? I dont see discussion on Facebook about mylot ever . They are two different to put in the same category .
Facebook is more a social sites that you can look up your latest news and updates . You also come across a wider age group so we can all have someone to relate to and be apart of a group . You can discuss your favorite episode with people that are interested .
Here you have more personal discussion because hardly know anyone in person . A great place to learn and earn .

i havent been here for years but its good to be back i enjoy the way people help you and its nice to know you have good friends..... as for face book its nice to keep in touch with loved ones at the touch of a button i like both for different reasons they are totaly different in every way

There are discussions here; not just partiucal thoughts. There is actually responses that relate to the topic.. Rude and other unneccary language is not used here, regardless of the rules.. Where as in Facebook some peoples profiles is full of garabage... Many many many reasons why mylot is better then facebook..
I believe the discussions are better here because our profiles are open; people can add to everyones discussions.. Facebook could not do it because of the way it is set up for members.. There is a lot more personal information...

This appears like poll type question. This or that why? mostly it may be deleted. other senior members will identify and tell why it should be deleted.
Mylot is mylot. facebook is facebook. one cannot become another. another cannot become the first one. let us accept and come together to learn, share and grow. do not mistake me.

I have some business type things that require me to be on facebook, but it does not generate any affection on my part. I also have a future daughter in law that communicates a lot on there, and I like that aspect. For me the people on MyLot are more genuine, and real. They also value what I have to say and we do a lot of regular interaction.

I agree with you Gardengerty! You experience a lot of things from the various discussions we read everyday. Unlike in Facebook, you do get in touch with family and friends but the environment feels really different. I think it is more "homey" here.

enough to make me dislike FaceBook mylot pays me earnings, gives me friendships and helps me and I care and share and learn and

Me too! Why? Getting paid is my favorite good reason. But there are many. For instance the different types of topics, ability to rant about what is bothering some of us, and the many friends we make, and much less complex than the Apsense that you mention. I can't even remember what originally did bring me to Mylot but I am very glad it did. And again getting paid is the best of reasons to be here on Mylot. Why does facebook have a billion members any way? Because it is the place to be. Or so people think. I enjoy Facebook because it is the only place I can go to to chat with my granddaughter and my BFF. It is the only place I can do that and play some games as a break from my writing and from being here on Mylot. Facebook is okay for pics from other friends, timeline so you find past bests, daily status', myriad of games, able to locate many old friends, and a great place to store my pictures. Mylot instead of Facebook if I need to vent, rant or get feedback from the friends I have made. You should be here more.

I definitely think my lot is better because it has a friendly on the site and unlike on Facebook people have interesting and thought provoking discussions.Compared to Facebook in which discussion tends to be limited to simple comments which is only liked there is hardly ever any discourse and its usually about pretty dull topics.The other advantage my lot has over Facebook is the ability to meet new people often from the other side of the world.With Facebook you are pretty much limited to people you actually know.

People here are blessed with the capacity to really be helpful, kind and resourceful to their Mylot neighbors!
Opening the door to the whole world and allowing folks to share their Human-ness with each other is a pretty darn good deal!

Why does facebook has billion members?
Well, because of people who wants to post their photos (same face, same angle 360 degrees hehehe)
And people who keep posting their status -updated every minute, so many people who waste their time playing games.
and so many reasons...
Why I am here mylotting instead of chatting in Facebook?
It is because I am earning here and learning while chatting with other members.

No other site like mylot even facebook also not. Facebook means only time pass no earning not getting new knowledge. But lots of benefit of mylot earning money, improving English knowledge, Making good friends, getting news knowledge etc.

For me there is much less drama here than Facebook. Personally I have no use for facebook at all. I go on about once a month just to check on my nephews that I dont see much. Other than that, I have no use for it at all.
I love having discussions here and I like making tons of friends here. Its much more like family here! And getting paid is nice too! :)
For me its no competition, Mylot wins in my book! =)

Same here, peaceful. Mylot shares it's revenues with it's users unlike Facebook who get all the income! And I could say that is enough reason why mylot is better than facebook!

Personally, I think there will always be different reasons for each person that is a member here, and for some of them they might be equally the same. For me myLot is a better site because you can come here and talk about life and life's problems without everyone you personally know going and telling everyone else or another reason to gossip. I feel we can also still make Good friends here that we can count on but on a more personal level.
Yes, some have expressed the money here which is nice, but for me the friendships and being able to talk about life and learn from one another makes it more worth while.

Hi peaceful, I have been here for 6 years or so. I would login here once I'm surfing net unless I'm in places where wifi are not available 
Here I could come across topics that I'm interested and it's great to participate in it. Even if I don't have time to express my feeling and opinion, still lot of fun to read responses from friends from different parts of the world. Even though the money earn here is wee it seems like an interesting game to me to challenge daily It's an exciting game that I could never find in other sites.

You can have lots of friends here from all over the world that are willing to listen to your problems and advice you good tips.
Mylot is a unique experience. 
Actually, I hardly log-in to facebook nowadays and just give my time to mylot.

Both are different. No comparison at all.
Mylot is a platform to share our views, opinions on different topics, here we are able to get solutions for something we don't know, that too instantly.
In my case, I asked a question here and I could find solution within 10 minutes from strangers, who are not even my friends here (Eventhough I have not added them as friends still).
I love Mylot & Facebook too.
Forget about their popularity and number of people joined.
Let's go for Facebook.........
It's an awesome platform to be in touch with everyone, more than that At Facebook, we can find our old friends browsing through names, places, scholl, college, university and so on....
It's the best place to find the lost friends even after many years without having any of their contacts like mobile number or email.
Some elders are getting connected each other, who were friends before the birth of World Wide Web and not in touch at present.

I enjoy this because of the adult interactions of people. No stupid selfies and people acting childish. Ive learned a lot of tips on here because of all the people on here facebook is not like that at all. This is why i like this better than facebook it is helpful facebook is not.
