I'm trying to upload pictures to MyLot discussion headings, but it won't take my pictures. They're my pictures, they're not huge files, I'm following all the guidelines but it just won't do anything when I hit that upload picture link. Any thoughts? I like taking pictures and uploading them to MyLot ... help.

Sad to say none of those answers fixed the problem. I don't get any message of what I did wrong. I thought, right from the start, that maybe I went over the limit. But then I waited and tried again the next day. Nothing. What is the limit anyhow? I've only like uploaded three or four pics a day. Oh well, perhaps I'll go down this list line by line and see if the answer is hiding there somewhere. Thanks.

I have no idea what the limit is. I have never reached it yet as, in six years since I joined, I have not uploaded more than 10 photos in total. I think I am a long way off mine

I think that they have benchmarks that you have to reach before you can upload photos to the site. I am just thinking maybe the limit corresponds to your ranking. Just brainstorming ideas with the facts that I have learned about the protocals that myLot has put in place for ensuring quality in the community.

Just a thought that I had today about you challenge with uploading pictures. Have you tried using a different web browser to see if that helps? I recall a long time back when I joined sometimes so of the features like when you are updating your profile page won't work right in Monzilla Firefox. Sometimes, you have better luck using Microsoft Explorer, so I was just thinking that you may want to try uploading the pictures in a different browser. Also, today I was trying to add HTML and it kept disappearing; then some members mentioned that you have to press the enter button, so that is one more suggestion. Hope it helps.

Even in my case html does not stick. I have tried it with different browsers and still no luck. There are many here who are facing this problem.

I had that problem for a long time. Someone told me to uninstall a toolbar from another site and that fixed it. When I reinstalled it, it updated and now the last I checked, it is fine. I think I posted a picture just the other night. So if you have a tool bar from Swagbucks or Inbox dollars, etc. try uninstalling and reinstalling it. That, or you may not have the latest version of Java.

I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it a little while later. It may have had an update we did not get or something. I hope that helps a little bit.

Whoop, I think you win. I have the Swagbucks tool bar. Oh no. You mean I need to uninstall that? Those things never work for me. Oh well, if I must. Thanks GardenGerty.

I too enjoy uploading pictures as photography is my passion and I have enough subjects that include my house, my garden and ofcourse my pets, my7 travel, etc.. I have had no problem uploading images so far. There are a few rules though: First, make sure the image you are attempting to upload is in a common format such as .gif or .jpg. Next, make sure the filename is simple and short with no spaces or funny characters. Next, make sure the file is less than 5mb. We do not allow images over 5mb. After you upload the file, we compress the file further to a max of 256k. If the compression fails, the upload fails completely. If none of these tips help, it's possible that the image is corrupted. If you have followed all the rules and you are still facing problems, you could perhaps send a message to GoAskAlice and explain the situation.

Yeah, I followed all those rules. I was uploading pictures for a while and then all of a sudden it wouldn't let me and no explanations. Alice scares me. JK. How do I get a message to GoAskAlice?

Well, we finally got the notifications fixed. Posts are not disappearing anymore, and screens are not going blank when posting comments to the discussions. So maybe, it is just the pictures turn to act up in the myLot community. Have you tried changing the type of picture file that you are uploading? Sometimes, that can help or try resaving the picture to your computer then try uploading it again. I know recently, I was trying to upload a file to the internet. I followed all the guidelines, but it would not upload no matter what I tried doing. I opened the file on my computer resaved the file to my desktop, and magically it finally upload.

Yeah, I guess we should expect those glitches. I'll try to resave some pics as different pic files. Good idea. Thanks.

I just tried to upload a pic, and it works fine. So I can assume that the problem doesn't lay on server side. - Try to resize your picture - Try to change the file extension (JPEG, JPG, GIF, PNG) - Try to wait till the next day - If the pain persists, see the admin

I tried to upload a pic to this discussion. Didn't work. I think GardenGerty might have solved the problem. We shall see. Thanks Varier.

I have been on Mylot for nearly six years. I uploaded afew pictures for discussions for about a year. Also several to my profile. After that I hadn't been able to until about a week ago and I just tried on a lark late one evening. It actually works and I was able to upload about six. I know it does take quite awhile sometimes for a picture to upload. Keep trying and don't give up is the only advice I have for you.

Hello my friend gtargirl Ji, Well, I too am sailing in the same boat since 3 months now. I could never up-load any of my personal photo to any of my responses/starting discussions etc. I even wrote to Admin as well. May God bless You and have a great time
