do you segregate your garbage?

Honestly, I don't. I just put them all in one container. I know that we need to segregate our trash into three parts but I only have one trash can in the house and that's where we put all our garbage. We don't use tissue paper in the comfort room for we only use water and soap there. So I only need one trash box for my garbage. I wonder if you follow the segregation rule.

hi there cutie18f. at home, we segregate our garbage. everything that is recyclable is placed in one big clear bag... bottles, cans, and paper and are then sold to recycling centers at the end of the month. biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials are also separated. it can be taxing at times to segregate garbage but i see ti as a contribution in lessening the pollution in the country so i know it is a worthy endeavor with long lasting benefits. you might want to try this out and start segregating your garbage. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

though there is a law now that we should segregate our garbage still many of us don`t abide this and that includes me.. maybe we are just lazy putting our thrushes in different container instead of just one.. in our neighborhood i noticed that no one is doing it.. even there is poster of the scheduled garbage that can only be collected.. i know its for our environment that we should abide this law.. i hope someday we can do this..

Yes, we are lazy and not so well-disciplined as a people. We just take things for granted. We have to know better, right?

We are big on recycling in our country, and we are encouraged to recycle, we even have separate boxes to put our glass and tins in, paper and cardboard, and household food waste, then black bags for every day rubbish which isn't recycleable. We have a collection once a week. It's easy to do, and it's a small way to help the environment.

Hi Wolfie! Our garbage collectors come every other day. I do not know why we make so much garbage in this country. We really need to do something.

I separate the metal and keep that to take the scrap yard when I go. Everything else gets put in one container, because the recycling center is separate from the garbage pickup. I wish they were combined, so we could get everything recycled like they do in the bigger cities. I should try some recycling in the house like I use to. I kept everything separate and it really cut down on the waste.

Hi Arieles, segregating my garbage at home seems like a big task, so we just dump everything in one garbage box.

Oh. So it is very strict there. In our place the government is encouraging this but it seems like only schools are following this while most houses don't.

No. In my country this is not a habit at all. There are some separated containers in some places, but they are all thrown up in the same place. Recycling is quite uncommun.

We like to recycle so we do have two trashcans outside our house. One is for trash and the other anything made of plastic or cardboard which is recycled.

We separate recyclables from non-recycleables. Also organic matter, such as potato peelings and leaves, go in the compost pile.

We try to segregate our garbage each time. But the garbage collectors themselves do not do the same. If they see stuff placed in a sack or a box which is still in good condition, they would take out the trash from those containers then dump it all together at the back of the truck. So what is the use of segregating them?

We are not used to it. I encourage my family to segregate but it does not work. I want to segregate, papers from plastics, solid plastics and soft plastics, dry leaves, and kitchen scraps but we are not used to doing it. That will be my project next year because it needs to be practiced to manage garbage properly.

Hi friend, some times i segregate the garbage, we have two separate dust bins for garbage. Most of the times we don't have time for segregate our garbage, so we will keep it in a bin

You can only do what you can. When I lived in an apartment that didn't have recycling bins near by, I just put everything in the large garbage bin. I do like to recycle and consider it important but at that time, I could only do what I could do. I think if people stopped littering, that would make a huge difference to our environment. At that time, I did pick up litter around that large garbage bin. And of course, didn't litter and still don't litter. And still pick up litter around the garbage bin where I now live. So, do what you can. Your family is your first priority.

Our trash company provides us with only one can and they come by twice a week with their truck which uses a mechanical arm to dump the contents into the same place making separation a waste of time. The only things we really keep apart are the aluminum cans because we can gather them to the scrap yard when there is time and they will pay us for them.

Yes I do. We only thrown the left over food stuff and non-recycled item into the trash bin. I will put glass, plastic and papers into different bin bag. On Wednesday there will be a recycled truck to collect all the recyclable items for free. At times I will bring hem to the recycle centre and they pay per kilogram basis. We will keep this money for our investment fund.

Segregating garbage helps in protection of Environment by way disposal of all Household waste viz.Solid, Wet waste in a conventional way from which the waste can be utilised by recycling in the case of Solid waste, as a fuel in case of Bio waste.
