Never fall for that infomercial again!

Have you experienced watching an appealing infomercial about a certain product, and yet the endorsement is quite promising and too good to be true that you want to try it out but as you got the product you regret buying it because it’s not that effective as that shown on its commercial…
I’ve experienced buying a home product (for the kitchen). At first, I was not interested to buy it but as the infomercial was airing on TV and its endorser was so convincing, I didn’t hesitate to call up the store. It was exciting to use the product but when I had it on my hand, it was really a piece of ineffective crap.
Please share your thoughts…

True, but one cannot help but try things out most especially when TV Commercials are finely made and has "promising" one liners. in a way, to not fall on such ill try looking it myself at the store.
Thanks for your response.

I think most of the things on infomercials are cheaply made and not worth the money and postage they ask for. Usually but not always the postage is way too much for the size of the item. I bought something years ago and luckily they had a 30 day trial period. Needless to say I sent it back and got a refund. I've noticed that now a lot of things they say you can't buy in a store you WILL find in a store if you look. When the pedi egg came out I found it in CVS at the same price and no postage.

I've generally been happy with what I get from infomercials like this, but I know that there are some people who haven't been happy with their experiences. Of course, you can also have the same thing happen to you when shopping at a brick & mortar store.
Of course, the more sight unseen it is, the more of a chance that it might turn out to be junk. However, I've found things at the store that look wonderful but might give me only a handful of good times using it before it wears out.

Lucky for you that your infomercial shopping as a worth thing to do. however, like you mentioned for some, they end up buying products that isn't worth what it. Buy anyhow, one should be cautious so that they wont fall regretting on buying such.

I'm like several other people have bought items in the store that were sold online over the years. The Magic Bullet is one item that my daughter uses a lot and it does a good job of making a healthy drink. She has been using it over a year and I would recommend it to anyone that likes to make their own drinks.

I find some of the products are quite good, like the Magic Bullet, but some are not that good. There are some that I felt were quite good, but my friends threw them away. A do have a needle threader but it is hard getting the needle through the fabric. So what did you get what was junk?

I had the same thing with a grill set, not the Boss one. It had teflon on it, and after a while it came off, and also the controls got loose. I used it to make up what I paid for, but I figured it was only to be used by little old ladies who are weak, and never break anything.

I think it probably costs so much to make an infomercial that the items can't be worth much. If the items being hawked were really good, wouldn't they have gotten a chain store to sell them? Which does show that some items that actually might be worth buying do turn up in stores later.

Your first implacation that it seemed too good to be true should have been a reality check for you. If it just seems too good it usually is. I guess we all have to experience to learn.

Yes, its a realization that we should first put up investigations before deciding whether to buy something or not. bottom line, is that one should not fall over some "promising" say on TVC's but rather look at the product personally before buying it.
Thanks for your response.

That is why it is always better to shop in real life. That way you can actually touch and test the product. I don't order by phone or even online. I want to really see the item and see if it works.

True, very true... we should buy from physical shops rather than seeing it on the appeal from TV which is too good to be true.
Thanks for your response.

I usually do some research before purchasing it. A lady my sister works with is the queen of buying off the informercial. She has lost a lot of money from doing this. I will look at reviews and decide from there, or wait a little while for it to go on cheapier in store.

Yes sometimes reading out reviews before purchasing an item is a good way to tell if you are buying worth products or not.
