What did you think of Seth McFarlane as the host for the Oscars for 2013? I thought he did an okay job. I especially liked when William Shatner came down and critiqued him as Captain Kirk. He is a good singer and voice impersonator. It was entertaining that's for sure! What do you think of Seth McFarlane as host? I think you did a fine job. What did you think when you saw the Oscars? Do you like Seth McFarlane? Who would you have chosen to be the host? Do you think they will invite him back? Have a great day and happy myLotting!!! [em]niceday[/em

I did not think he was very good. And I expected him to do well. His bit with William Shatner was funny, but he just didn't do as well as I thought he would. I didn't particularly like the "we saw your boobs" bit. Sure, it's amusing. But it wasn't laugh out loud funny, and at the Oscars you're supposed to be a little more classy. That would have gone over better at the Golden Globes. I didn't expect him to be really classy because that's not his thing. He's a good looking, hilarious guy. I just thought he did okay. But he won't be back next year. He already said he would not.

I thought this was one of the better Oscars that I have seen in a long time. I had a negative view of Seth McFarlane before the Oscars for some reason I don't know why but I think he pulled it off very nicely. I especially loved the singing and dancing that he did. I didn't know he could do all that. My mom didn't like the William Shatner gig because she thought it was a bit corny. I liked it because I thought it was so funny. My mom does not have a very good sense of humor.

I watched clips of the awards and liked several pasts a lot more. I'm aware that some people weren't available to be considered as the host. The ratings were up, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was invited back.

I didn't think he was too great.....alot of what he did fell flat. I liked it when Billy Crystal was the host....I know he doesn't write alot of his script and that was left up to others....he has alot of personality. Maybe I didn't like some of what they had written not just for him but others too.

For the most part, I think he did pretty good. Certainly the William Shatner appearance helped a lot. It was a gimmick that allowed for some of his worse things to be included in an acceptable way. He still had a couple of things that did not work at all. He did show some versatility with the singing and dancing.

I haven't watched the Oscars for years. Going back a good ways in time, though, my favorite host was Bob Hope. Hope was a comedian who basically did stand up comedy as part of his TV show, but he also was a successful actor having been in 70 movies. During the ceremonies he would joke about never winning an Oscar. As an example he once said "Welcome to the Academy Awards, or as it's known at my house, Passover." Despite never getting an award as an actor, the Academy did give him 4 honorary awards and also gave him a humanitarian award.

I don't watch the Oscars but I heard his joke about Lincoln and thought it showed incredibly bad taste. Apparently it didn't go over well with the audience, either. I do like to check the next day to see the dresses, I enjoy that, but haven't had time to do so today.

I thought he was okay. I liked it when Whoopi or Billy Crystal was host better. It was different.
