When I was watching a talk show today it set my mind thinking. This was an actress of yester years who shared her experiences with the viewers. I have seen her as a little girl of fourteen and she was the neighbor of a relative of mine. Some scenes were shot on the road with this little girl in skirt and blouse. She was introduced as a teenage heroine by a very famous director. We never had thought much of her, by way of looks or acting talent. I had diligently avoided her films too. But after many years she had made a comeback appearing in senior roles and she has been a consistent performer in thefield.Actually she does not look too bad either now that she is old though she is not extraordinary. In those days, looks were given a lot of importance in this glamorous field of films. I was totally impressed by the way she narrated her story, her humility and the interpersonal skill which she had; this must have made her a great success. Apparently she had had a series of offers to act in four different languages and after marriage and children [they are grown up now] she has now come back to films. I was wondering whether her good nature, skill in making use of the opportunity that knocked her door along with her talents had given her so much of success.

People were brought up then with character and humility. Hardworking people that were determined to get what they wanted. I would be curious to know who she was because I am a fan of the old vintage actors.

Hello kalav, Here I am thinking of a Mexican actress that has been in so many Films and also she was disqualified from a beauty contest for being under age too. However she was out of Films for a long time and then all of a sudden like this actress you mention she started doing plays on Television and has been there ever since she is 65 now and has so much talent and you can tell that she was one of those actresses from before that had very good looks too. There is another actress I can think of but she is much younger and she teaches younger men and women to be actors as well this actress is from Venezuela and now lives in Peru. Both actresses have the same attitude of common sense and humility very much feet on the ground and only living for acting whenever they can.xxx

Hello kalav, Was just thinking about that actress she plays any kind of part small parts, bigger ones anywhere where she can act. They are both persistent indeed and when they can act as secondary or lower against others it shows that they are truly worthy of those roles. I would like to see them get an award for their efforts but I donĀ“t know if they ever will one thing about is they are truly appreciated by us all and that is what counts the most. That sort of thing you cannot keep on your shelf can you?xxx

Was also thinking of the great Actress Katherine Hepburn. She was an all round actress and rose above herself always to give her part all she had got in spite of being ill in her later years. She will always be a great example of how an actress should be.xxx

It is indeed a total package and most important of all is the opportunity one gets to be a success. Also, one needs someone to project the person without which nothing much can be achieved. That is what I think. The other name for it is a 'God Father'

True.Whatever talent a person has , it has to be revealed to the world and opportunity is absolutely essential. THough everyone cannot be blessed with a Godfather some sort of contact does help.

Either a contact or a God Father without that one can never be a success in the film industry.

Of course. The strange thing is while writing out the comment I got lost in the topic and made it general.Godfather is absolutely essential in the film world.

Hi, You are right. Talent is more important but total package is required. For example, for being successful heroin, the acting talent is important but along with it, she should have good looks, dancing, attitude, style and many things.

True. Not only in the film world , in any career or in any field there are so many aspects needed to make a complete package. Attitude is of great importance though sometimes this is overlooked.

A person who was successful must has the talent that the other persons don't have.I think a person who has extensive knowledge, good interpersonal skill, humble character,or other good characters will get success easily.

And of course the capacity to work hard after he gets the opportunity ! It is also necessary to sustain this success and for this hard work and consistent performance is needed.

I think you are right. In the old days look was important but I think also their nature... I suppose no one wants to work with a difficult personality, unless she/he is really genius or brilliant...

All brilliance gets beaten with churlishness. SOmetimes people think too much of themselves too.
