I think we can make the chapati easily by hand but some people use machine for this that is called chapati maker. But I think my hand is paining if I start using this because heavy and pressing means hand problem. What you think you can make the chapati easily by chapati maker or by hand. Do you make the round chapati without maker.

No,surekhaji,we don't have this machine. We had read about it,could buy it,but we did not.My wife loves to cook chapaties with her hands. She says she wants to keep her hands moving and doing something for her family. She says that cooking chapaties in the traditional Indian way is suitable for an Indian woman and if we start using machines for these simple and easy works,we would become lazy. She loves working from morning till evening and says that this is the reason why she is healthy and doesn't have any problem.

We don't eat chapati so often and only got to eat it when we eat out in Indian shops. We have frozen chapati in the supermarket. I have never tried my hands in making chapati at home. I quite like to eat this Indian bread.

Thanks for this discussion. Hand made round chapati and triangular paratha are best, come to our home eat with us, you won't find a single burnt spot on any, the entire surface is evenly backed; we never use this machine, it cant make good roti. Why are you not receiving my call?

I don't make chapatis but I have seen people make it by machine also. In my opinion when one has to make lots of chapatis then machine should be used otherwise making it manually does not mater.

Chapati is a whole wheat bread more like tortilla. Soft dough is made with whole wheat flour with water and then rolled in round shape with the help of rolling pin and cooked on a pan. chapatis are usually served with some kind of curry.
