With all the talks about climate change and global warming nowadays, threats being posed by this are really alarming. Can we still save Mother earth from destruction? Man has been doing a lot of things to save Mother Earth but are we not too late for that? With all those catastrophes happening around the globe, it is really scary tot think that man is closing in to his won destruction.

As human beings, I don't think that it is possible for us to reverse the damage that we've already caused to the earth. However, I do think that if we were to all work together and lower our consumption of fossil fuels and also lower the amount of carbon monoxide that we are releasing into the atmosphere, I really believe that the effects of climate change that are happening can be something that are significantly slowed down or even stopped within a period of a few years.

It does call for a global cooperation among nations. We need to take part in this advocacy,

We could actually try lessening all the environmental problems that we create,if each one of us could convince and change just one person- OUR SELF. In this way we could stop the little things that we contribute to environmental hazards. And maybe when a large number of people start practicing this, there would be huge change in the present scenario. HOPE FOR THE BEST...:)

I agree with you on this. One man cannot change nor lessen the impact of global warming unless he starts with himself then if we can eventually act together like one as ants do, nothing is impossible.

I find it interesting that 25 years ago we were heading into another ice age and had to change our behavior or face the Ice Age in the next few years. Then a few years ago it was global warming and we had to change or we would burn up. Now it is our behavior is causing all these major storms. If you study weather patterns over 100 years you get on outcome. If you look at 500 years you can prove something else and you get totally different results if you look at the last 1000 years. Several years ago Congress was talking of cutting the budget to NASA and guess what NASA discovered the hole in the ozone layer and they needed moeny to study it. That got their money and now you don't hear anymore about the hole in the ozone layer. What happened?

The climate changes etc is due to our play with mother nature over past several years, and this foul play still continues.. we must stop some of this like mass cutting of trees, rampart use of plastics; burning of forests to mention a few.

I think yes, we can not stop climate change but we can lessen the effects from worsening. Change is never too late as long as we are sincere of it. let us just think of the next generations. They say we are lucky today we still see trees, what if comes a day that our grand children would ask how a tree looks like. That is too much to bear. That is why we are to do our part in lessening the effects of global warming. How? Let us start it from ourselves. Have a sense of responsibility.

We can minimize such activities that result to global warming but not stopping it entirely. Our life and activities these days tend to be dependent on all those things that destroy mother earth and only if we can stand head tall and say "enough is enough", we might only end up causing more harm than good.

If people will answer to that call of lessening the effects of this environmental issues we are facing right now, I think it is not yet too late.

I truly DO believe we can lessen the impact..of our destructive ways, but it will take a very conscious effort on the behalf of every human. And totally re-thinking our values. We must get rid of our "disposable" attitude..our "instant" attitude..and as the old saying goes; re-purpose, re-use, re-cycle.....and re-think before you buy!

Here in some places in our country had started using paper bags in place of plastic. This is quite unacceptable to those who are in the business of plastic but if it is good for for the environment, why not?

@cherigucchi...The carbon imprint left by felling a tree and the manufacturing of the "paper" bag is huge! Plastic bags are NOT the answer..as it takes a lifetime to biodegrade..whose lifetime...the worlds???? Re-usable cloth is really the answer...contrary to many's beliefs. EAsily laundered!

There is also a wide campaign of using that cloth bag which we call eco-bag. I think that information mentioned by bobmnu must be taken into consideration by the people in our government who think that paper bags are the answers! Thanks for this information, my friends!

I believe so, as what the experts have been saying. Being one, I think they have their basis. But we can not achieve this if we are not doing our part. I know it's hard to convince people and because of modern technology this had been taken for granted for as long as we could remember. Let's just hope people today learn to understand the importance of this alarming issue.

Yes, we can but unfortunately we are determined not to do it.

One must understand what is Climate Change in simple terms. First we all must be aware there Earth has gone from various epoch or "age" as we call it. The Dinosaur Age, the Stone Age, the Ice Age etc etc. So Climate has always changed. And it would continue to do so. What we however talk about is human induced climate change and that would surely need to be addressed. And it is still possible to adapt or mitigate the effects. But we are running out of time.
