SIL sick at work with the flu: Explosion in little boys room!

My SIL is a truck driver ice cream salesperson. He took sick today while making a delivery to an elementary school. So he runs to the boys bathroom and just makes it. There are all kinds if explosive noises coming from that stall. The boys room main door is left open so that the little kids don't accidentally get trapped, I guess. Anyway kids are coming in and laughing their fool heads off at the grownup making all those fart and diarrhea noises. I asked if he told them to hush and he said no, he just kept doing his business. Luckily that was his last stop on his route, but he had to clean and reload and gas up his truck for tomorrow before he could come home. Now that he is home my daughter is giving him warm tea and saltines to try and settle him down. He's really sick. Have you ever been really sick at work? Did you finish your shift? If you have had any embarrassing moments, now is the time to share.

I have been several times. Toward the end of my last job I would get all kinds of sick. I was on Paxil and have a bad downward spiral. I would get a rash on my arms really bad(I thought it was the cleaning stuff they were using)cause it happened when I put my arms down on the desk. I always get a stomach ache when I am stressed and if real bad I will get diahrea. I did that toward the end too. Headaches like migraines. Just really bad affects of stress. Not fun!

It has a reputation. One thing is that after about two years some people taking it have a bad decline. That is what happened to me. My kids can't take Wellibutrin. They have bad panic attacks. My daughter and my granddaughter and myself. It is weird how people react to different medications. I can't take much. I have extreme reactions to the side effects.

I used to take Wellbutrin and another one and Klonopin but had to stop seeing that doc cuz of the $40 copay. I have to see 2 other specialists with the same copay so something had to give.

I know a few people who can't take Paxil. My daughter can't take it. I get bad stomach cramps from one of my meds and I threw it out and went back to the neurontin.

When I was in elementary school, my dear sweet mother would wrestle me into dresses on picture days. On one of those days, I wasn't feeling terribly well and sat down under a tree at recess after lunch. A couple of boys came up and decided it would be fun to come up and try looking up the damn dress while I was sitting there. I jumped up to yell at them, but when I opened my mouth I projectile vomited all over the closest one. I got to go home sick that day, and I got a vacation as they decided that I'd deliberately done it and deserved an out-of-school suspension over it.

Well, to be fair, it was shortly after my father passed away and I had massive behavioral problems at the time. The faculty at the school was rather fed up with my antics by that point, and they tended to seize any opportunity they could find to get me out of their hair for a few days... even if it meant grasping at straws.

Oh wow, that is quite embarrassing! Luckily it was just a bunch of little kids and it wasn't a bathroom full of adults, which I would think would be worse. A few months ago at work I had lunch from the food court. It was rice, teriyaki and orange chicken. Everything tasted fine but about half an hour after I came back from break my stomach started to hurt. It went from a minor stomachache to the worst stomach pains I've felt in my life. I was at work and I couldn't even stand up straight. I had about 20 minutes left of my shift but I told my supervisor that I was in so much pain and I had to leave. On the drive home it got even worse and the pain would come and go in waves. I had to drive with one foot on the pedal and the other leg bent with my knee in my face to relieve some of the pain while I drove. Of course I hit every red light and I was almost crying from pain. Luckily I got home in time and after I went to the bathroom I started to feel better. Needless to say I haven't eaten at that place in the food court since that happened lol

hi dear PQ nothing embarrassing here about being sick at work. Happened quite a lot of times in the 20 years I work at that place now that my boss saw I was working battling a hugs cold and saying to me go to the doctor I dont want to see you here in 15 minutes I will check on you that you are gone........ In 1998 I had developed glandular fever but didnt know first I had it. The whole mess started with pain in the right kidney area. I went to work and my boss noticed and ordered me to get home and get rest. I didnt go to the doctor, but just took a bath and went to bed. Next morning I still had that pain but chose to get to work anyways. When my boss checked on me the pain hit me full force and I exclaimed OUCH. Reaction: Have you been to the doctor? No So you leave immediately and see a doctor now....... yes it has started with a kidney inflammation, so that meant four different antibiotics in four weeks........

Hi RitterSport! Your boss cares a lot for you to see that you go to the doctor. S went to work the next day. He doesn't feel good a lot but I think it's cuz he eats not so healthy. I make good good (soups and stews to last longer) and he eats canned junk. I'm worried he will have a heart attack.

I had a gas explosion on the airplane. I was in this tiny bathroom. It sounded like a bomb went off. Even though the door was thick I figured everyone out in the plane must have heard it because even though it was night everyone in the front was awake and looked me over when I came out.

My SIL has colitis. He should keep clean clothes too. He has soiled his underwear many times trying to get to a restroom.

Oh bless your heart! That was terrible and embarrassing. I was sick at work once. I was a nurse at the time. I got to feeling sick in report at shift change. I never did get to work. The day supervisor said to go to bed in the classroom to see if I was better soon. When I wasn't I went home and had an accident both ways while in the car driving. I was a mess and so was my car.

i was sick at work in my last job. the elderly lady i worked for got mad cause i told her i had to go and clean up and id be back to finish to make sure she would be alright till the next gal came. when i got back and i probably only took 30 to 45 mins. she let me go! sad thing is, that was just the begining of the H-pylor desease that brought me down to disability. which shows that even i was only a few pay checks away from being homeless if my daughter hadnt been there. I have had other accidents embarrassing like starting my period when i was younger at work and having to clean up and hide a stain till i could get home.

I've had events with getting my 'friend' in school. One day I was waiting for mom to come get me. I was in the hallway going outside. The principal stopped me and asked what was the matter. I said I had to go home. He asked why? I was mortified. But I said I got my period and I'm messed up. I guess that was TMI but he asked for it.

I am sorry that your SIL got sick, but it great that she was able to take care of herself. I had gotten sick once at work and Randy ended up picking me up. I had only lived two blocks from work, but was so weak that I thought if I had walked I might have passed out. I had felt so dizzy and lightheaded that I felt like I was going to faint. Randy has asked me if I needed anything and it was then I told him I had not eaten all day long because I had been so busy. He made me lay down and cooked me some soup. I felt better after I had eaten. Now I make sure that I eat.

I don't think I will be able to do that in the office. I am the kind of person who needs to go and do the number 2 in my own toilet. It's like my b___ recognizes it's own glorious seat and just refuses to cooperate when it sees something else. Whenever I get sick that bad, I would just ask to go home. Usually I am allowed to because I would really tell the boss that it will get ugly if I still stayed. I usually make it up when I have recovered so they know that I will really make up for some lost work time.

Hi Raine. I like my own too. I have a thing that I have to play spider solitaire on my iPhone when I go.
