i go to the doctor today so that they could stuff me in a wall and close it up. it's called an MRI. for however long, i will be buried alive....sealed up in a wall. sigh. i am crying so hard right now. i don't know why they have to do this to me. it's just my foot. it's nothing that serious. i don't want to do this. what if there is no air in their. what if i can't breath?!!!? what if the seal gets stuck and they can't get me out??!! this is one of my worse nightmares coming to meet me face to face. i am not into facing your fears or anything of that kind of bull s%$#. i will go to the appointment, just to see if there is any other way they can do the test without stuffing me into the wall. if not, i will not being doing it. i just can't. i just can't stop crying.

You need to stress to them and tell them exactly how you feel, like you've done so in your discussion, they can't force you to have the MRI, it's your body, your choice, I too found it hard to comprehend why they should want you to go through that ordeal when it's your foot? They have to respect the way you feel my friend, but be open and honest with them.

If it is a blockage causing her foot problem they have to do some testing to see what it is. There are other conditions that require more than x rays for diagnosis.

sounds like they didn't describe the procedure well enough.i've had MRI's,and it was just a wall size machine..you can't move around, but i'd never been fully enclosed by it.you just lay in the machine and the imager goes over the affected part.

Sealed up in a wall? I have had two MRI's and they never did that to me. They have to do this to you to see exactly what is going on with your foot! I was very nervous the first time because I am clostraphobic and don't like being in small enclosed areas. This didn't bother me at all. The attendant was with me through the whole thing, and it didn't take nearly as long I thought it would. Don't cry and fret over something you can't change. And it will be over before you know it.

Due to my lymphma, I have MRIs done to me evey 3 months. THere are other bigger procedures too, but those are not so near one to the other, at least now that I`m on remission. The MRI is nothing special. They put a fluid a a contrast medium and then do it. There`s someone nearby all the time, so you are not scared.

Hi Moon ! I can understand how you feel but it there's nothing really to be feared there . It is just a simple procedure and so very quick . It just your mind that makes you think of something. Nothing truth in those things that plays in your mind, you just relax and think soon it will be done .

Hi Moon Sounds to me like you are having a "panic attack" I know what you mean, I cannot be confined in any space I feel like I will hyper ventilate it is so scary, but if you have to go through this maybe they can give you something to relax.

they gave me some valium, but i still say that i don't have to put my self through these extremes over a swollen foot. it's just my foot. they make me think that it's something more, by putting me through this drastic kind of thing. i still don't think i will be able to do it.

There are MRI machines that are open. If you need this for a diagnosis of something it is a good idea to go ahead and get it. I think I have had an MRI. It was not completely locked or closed, so there was not a chance of getting stuck inside. I just had a hard time being still.

what happened? It is more than nine hours now; so, did you go or did you not have the MRI? Do not worry; there won't be anything terribly wrong with your foot.

if you try and you begin having problems they can let you out. you are not a prisoner to the MRI. but if it's just your foot they need to see maybe the doctor will have other alternative. I'm dont want to say this but I will be more concerned with the damage that that radiation from the MRI will be doing then I would about getting stuck in the machine. I'm sorry I've had 1 but I don't even remember when.

OMG Moongypsy you have to calm down and stop crying. I have known people who have had an MRI and its not all that bad they say. You just can't move at all. If you have to do it just close your eyes and pray and everything will be ok. I just don't understand why an MRI if its just your foot. There has to be another way to get to the bottom of your problem. Good luck and please let us know what happens.

How are you feeling now, MoonGypsy? Are you done with the MRI? How is your foot now? I hope that gets better soon.

That is quite bad and the mri scan is a simple procedure where the laser beam will be flashed over your buddy, take it cool ,magnetic resonance imaging is simple infact

So sorry to hear they want to give you an MRI. If you tell them how you feel they should be able to come up with something else. Since you have a very huge fear of this. Try to calm down and just let them know that they have to think of another way to check your foot out.

you should... you should.. it is a must If you were buried alive, I was raped twice.... you know the checking of ovaries... I had first through rectal thing.. with camera and they will take a photo of the inside.... I felt so harassed that day... then the doctor again said.. they were not able to see well because they just found (poop) instead, so the doc said she has to examine again this time it is TRANSVI through my v gina. no procedure is most effective that way.. she said. so I have no choice... OMG I felt I was RAPED, she can't talk to me after I want to cry but I can't I will look stup!d.
