Going To Mum's Tomorrow - Hope The Weather Improves!

Apparently, it's been the coldest March for 50 years over here in Blighty and I'm not altogether happy about it. I'm hoping that when I'm at Mum's from Monday to Sunday we'll be able to get out and about, despite the cold. I don't do that so often here, especially on foot, so it will nice to hop on the bus and visit the shops with Mum. Carlisle (where I live) isn't geared up for public transport whereas Blackpool is. The pass I'm planning to purchase on Tuesday will cover me for the trams as well so I'm determined to go on one of those this time round as the route is along the Promenade, therefore the sea is beyond. I can't wait..oh, and I need a break from the computer. Not that I won't miss it (and you of course) but we all need a break now and again, don't we? I shall take a pic of Mum's stair carpet. I bet you're wetting yourselves in anticipation..I can tell lol.

So long as you don't wet the carpet! Have a good time, I love Blackpool.

I had friends in Thornton Clevelys and used to visit quite often. Last time that I drive through it was about three years ago. Places do change of course but sometimes for the better.

Do you really? When was the last time you visited? It's changed an awful lot, even since I left in the Summer of 2005. The Prom, in particular, is way different than it used to be. There's even LED lights all over the Tower now..oh, and not forgetting the new fancy trams. I love those!

I am so tired of the cold. I am really hanging out for warmer weather so I may too enjoy the outdoors. Have fun at your mothers!!!

I'll try my best. All we want is a bit of warmth isn't it? Not too much to ask for.

There's a puddle on the floor as we speak LOL. Can you believe that today, marked on the calendar it has the audacity to say Summer time begins PMSL. It feels more like winter. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out for the first time this year and start on the garden, I want to plant my veggies and the ground hasn't been touched, but of course the weeds still grow regardless. Have a wonderful safe trip tomorrow my friend. Will you be catching the train from Carlisle to Preston then onto Blackpool North?

Oh God no, hubby will be taking me in the car. I hate the Ford Focus compared with the Honda but - that aside - it will be brilliant lol. Nice scenery anyway. Hope you manage to get out into the garden soon. It's got to warm up sooner or later hasn't it? I blame the Jet Stream..in the wrong place..AGAIN!

I spoke to my sister who lives in London and she said it was so cold that she has the heating going full blast day and night. She is ten years older than me and to be cold and old is not a good thing. Fortunately, friends take her out to shop or my son will buy anything she's run out of and take it to her after work as she is poorly too. I hope that hou don't get too cold. I can't wait to see the carpet

I can't wait to see the carpet either. Won't be long now lol. It's a shame you will have to wait until next Sunday to see it..but I love the suspense, don't you? Haha! Yes, my Dad is 9 years older than Mum so, obviously feels the cold more. Because the front room is haunted where he sits it NEVER gets completely comfortable, temperature-wise, in there..and yet, in the back where Mum is it's red hot. It's a shame they can't watch the same telly but they'd be at each others' throats if that were the case!

Well, you really need a break and getting to see your mom would be a wonderful idea. I am sure she'd be happy to have you around and yes, I would also want to see how the majestic stair carpet looks like!

Are you planning on taking a picture from the bottom of the stairs looking up, or the top of the stairs looking down?

Erm..that's actually a good question as I could fit in the horsey pic on the wall if I took one from the top. I tell you what, I'll do both..keep everyone happy. Haha!

Hopefully, you get some decent weather for your visit. I've heard about how the weather has been there; it sounds like springtime is going to be a while in arriving.

We all need a break periodically from whatever routine we find ourselves in. I'm planning a big break myself. I intend to move away from my kids because they are just using me to provide for them. They are grown and need to be taking care of themselves but as long as I am around they will never provide for themselves. I am going somewhere they will not think to look then they will have to support themselves.

I hope the weather is good wherever you are right now. In my place, it just looks like the usual London weather. Can't wait for actual spring and summer to come. Enjoy your break! =)

I hope you have fun, and a little vacation. It's hard to get around without public transit I know we don't have it here.

Hi Janey I hope you have a great time at your Mum's oh it is hard to believe it is that cold in England I have never been there but I always find I am fascinated with people from England. My Father's side were English and he always had the neatest "lingo" I had ever heard. I have never seen the sea or ocean, I used to watch Cornation Street that is as close to England I have seen and of course other shows, It will be cool to see your Mum's stair carpet, I just did my staircase in the fall it actually looks quite English now that I think of it lol.

Have a great holiday at your mum's. I have been gone a couple of days. Nice person that I am I am at work for a little more than half a shift. It will be holiday pay, since it is Easter. Not working very hard and catching up on today's internet activity. I am off work tomorrow as well. I have an hour and a half left to work. Mostly paperwork.

I'd love a ride along the promenade. In fact, I'd love jut to see the see. I love wild cold seas as well as warm blue ones. It's been a while since I've seen either.

I can't imagine what the coldest March for 50 years there is like.I guess at least it is above freezing. You seem to go to your Mum's on the first of April each year. You will benefit greatly from it.It not only makes a change but rejuvenates you.
