Friends I have collected this information, sharing here for benefit of persons having diabetes; hope you will find it useful. I think it is equally good for diabetic patients around the globe not only Indians. For diabetics, a healthy diabetes diet is the essence to healthy living along with exercise. A diabetes diet should be high on fiber; it must contain milk without cream, buttermilk, fresh seasonal fruits, green vegetables, etc. they must be consumed in moderation. The following is suggested by Dialectologist, Dr. Sanjiv Bhambani with Moolchand Medcity. Diabetes diet for Indians should have the ratio of 60:20:20 for carbs, fats and proteins, and per day calorie intake should be between 1,500-1,800 calories with a proportion of 60:20:20 between carbohydrates, fats and proteins, respectively. A diabetes diet should have at least two seasonal fruits and three vegetables in a diet plan. As for dry fruits, the fructose can spike up your sugar level. The doctor shares his recipe for diabetes diet for Indians: One teaspoon of methi (fenugreek) seeds soaked overnight in 100 ml of water is very effective in controlling diabetes. Drink tomato juice with salt and pepper ever morning on an empty stomach. Intake of 6 almonds (soaked overnight) is also helpful in keeping a check on diabetes. I think it is equally good for diabetic patients around the globe not only Indians. Please respond comment and share your tips too. Thanks in advance. Professor Dr. Bhuwan Saraf. PhD. April 6, 2013. Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

Thank you for sharing such valuable information for diabetics. I have a friend who are a diabetic since the age of twenties. Both of his kidneys are damaged now and he needs to go for kidney dialysis three times a week. I notice he would not eat bananas, green beans, and food rich in fibre. He is only allowed to consume very little water and eat little amount of rice a day. Besides, he has high blood pressure too.

Here in the US we call this home-medics. Even physicians suggest some home-medics to their patients. I've never seen any home-medic product recalled unlike many medications on the market. All I can say is anyone reading this should take it seriously and give it a try for a year. Sometimes it takes that long for the routine to take affect! Sometimes the routine takes 24 hours to start working. It's long been known here that almonds are very beneficial for both diabetes and high blood pressure. At night I eat a few almonds and a little M&Ms after dinner while my husband has a big bowl of ice cream, therefore avoiding the cholesterol and fat in ice cream. Next thing I want to try is frozen yogurt. I've heard it's very good and healthier than ice cream! Thanks for the tips!

I am happy you liked this, cure by herbal medicines is permanent, no side effects. In our house yogurt is prepared daily at night using thick boiled milk, in the morning it sets like ice cream, my family members add sugar, but i add salt and small piece of green chilly

Here in Europa as well as in the US we have a sugar called Xylitol or Birch sugar. The birch is a European tree which was used to make sugar in Scandinavian Countries. This sugar has the formular (CHOH)3(CH2OH)2. It is good for your teeth and also a wonderful sugar replacement for people with diabetes because it is a low glycaemic sweetener and also only slowly absorbed and metabolized independently of insulin. It doesn't cause the dramatic increase in blood sugar level and has not many calories. And there is another benefit of using this kind of sugar.- Believe it or not it helps to prevent and heal osteoperosis.-

That is a very useful information! Thank you for sharing. As my father has diabetes, it's a useful info to tell my father. The ingredients seem easy to get as well. Except methi seeds, I have no idea what is it. Tomato juice, as well as pepper and salt also almonds are easy enough to get. I've never know that almonds are good for diabetes. As I know almonds have high magnesium which is good to treat depression.
