I got another great deal at my veggie stand here on friday. 25 ears of yellow corn for just 3.00. I love corn, but what do I do with so much? I need a few ideas here. Im going to boil some, and add some to my beef soup here today. I know with so many people here from all over the world, I can get some great ideas.

have you ever tried it in a rice,i love it listen first get some chicken and cut them very small, then cook them with some thyme and salt and also some black pepper but as an oil use olive oil, after you cooked them for 5 minutes add the corn and put some garlic sauce, then add some curry powder 2 small spoons, then mix them. if so dry put some water and mix them again, then put all ingredians in to the rice machine and add 2 big glass rice. and wait for it. you cant believe how delicious its is,i cooked it today,i love corn too i wish you can prepare it happy mylotting

I always buy corn when it`s on season and freeze it blended and half cooked with a bit of butter nd milk. When I take it out, I add some basil if I hsve some, salt it and beat enough eggs (whites separated from yolks) and blen it with the corn paste in soft strokes. I make a sort of pudding that I bake. You cna top it with sugar or serve a hot paste on the side. Yummy!

You cook it a bit with the milk and the butter after you blend it, no salt (if it is to freeze) just like you would do with mashed potatoes. WE call it here "sancochar" It is a short cooking on low heat while stiring.

How do I add milk in butter. Just to bag? or while I cook it before freezing?

I haven't had corn for longer than I can remember, I used to love it and it would go well with fish, any fish for that matter, or in a stir fry, or on top of a jacket potato, corn is full of protein and vitamins. Corn is pretty versatile it can go with almost anything.

My number one suggestion is freeze some for later. That will give you time to figure out all the things you can make with it. I like mixing corn into mashed potatos. I put it in chicken noodle soup. Have as a side by itself. Grill on the BBQ...Yummmm. There are so many things to do with corn, just use your imagination.

I suppose you could cook first then freeze. My personal thing would be to maybe take it off the cob then put it in a freezer bag and put the freezer bag inside of a plastic container in the freezer to cut down on frost on the food. I know from experience that zip lock baggies is not enough.

I like that idea, my son can cut all the corn off the cob today. Thanks, have a great day there.

How would you say I should freeze it. I assume I cook it first, then take of cob?
• United States

You can cut it off the cob and freeze it or you can let it dry and plant it or resoak it later. I think it has to be a regular corn for popping for you to be able to do that.

I've done that removing all the little guys for later. It is either that or corn relish. I think steam cooks best if it is really sweat. Hot work though. I might give it away if I am not feeling up to it.

The growing idea I like. I wouldn't mind trying that myself some day if I had some extra fresh corn.

You may steam it till soft, spread some butter over it and eat it by itself and can also sell them in your cafe to make some money .

Blanche and freeze some. I also have been told that they are great to grill and in fact you leave the husks on, soak them in water then put them on the barbecue.

Wow. I love corn on the cob. That's probably my favorite way to eat corn. My sister makes chicken with this for lack of a better wors, "sauce", and it involves corn and tomatoes and peppers. It's really healthy, and it tastes good. But sauce really is not the right word. It's not creamy like you'd think of a sauce.

hi why not serve fresh corn on the cob to your customers as I bet they would love it and if not eat it that way and i will bet you will not t ke long to eat all those up. You can freeze them and there is a ton of how to freeze on I just blanched them , stuck them in freezer bags and froze them to eat as is for for other recipes too.I love corn pudding but never tried making it from fresh corn, I think when we use f resh up in the old way of canned we lose the benefit of eating it just cooked hot with butter on it as corn on the cob.so y ummy

Wow! This is really cheap. You can always boil cook it in brine and butter it before serving. At the same time you can add ingredients like carrots, radish, tomatoes and fresh pork ribs into the brine you used to cook the corns and you will have a nice soup. You may want to barbeque it which is really nice when you could serve it with a coat of chilli sauce or ketchup or sprinkle curry powder and salt while you are barbequing the corn. Another idea would be to remove the corn from the cob and stir fry it with garlic, carrots and diced ham/mince beef or pork.

I'm sorry but I must be the only person in the world who does not like corn on the bob that much although I adore cornmeal. I will either boil it or grill it fro the family as they all love it. I'm the one who flew over the cuckoo nest on this one

We usually make soup out of grated corn. We add pork cutlets to it to make it more delicious. Saute garlic and onion and when golden brown add the pork, when that becomes golden brown, you can add in the grated corn, add a cup of water then salt and pepper. Bring it to a boil. I hope you'd try it.

this sounds crazy, try to eat one of them raw..... Its very sweet and crunchy if its raw. maybe you can add raw corn in some salad. if you are a fan of the deliciousness popularly known as Picadillo, adding corn kernels in place of peas will make it extra special. ( also tried picadillo with both peas and corn and its still awesome) If you are not allergic to seafood, crab and corn soup is awesome(shrimp can take the place of crab)

I would put some of that corn in soup or a salad. I love to eat corn off the cob by itself though, 25 is a lot so I'm sure you'll need to cut some off for something. Fresh corn is really the best for any dish. Potato and corn soup can be tasty with some creamy sauce. I have no recipe but that's my suggestions!

In my house they'd just eat them as is... grill them , boil them, microwave them.... they'd be gone in no time in my house! You can also just cut the kernels off the cob and use them in any dish you'd usually use with corn. I wish it was that cheap here and I bet you have better corn varieties there in Mexico then here unless you have GMO there. Corn here at the farmers market is $6 for a bakers dozen last year who know's what it'll be this year.

Roasted Corn - Roasted corn is a favorite food of rainy season in most parts of India.
if this is the corn we are discussing then I am still eating it in the form of homemade popcorn prepared from dried corn kernels... But it is also good in roasted form. Roast them crispy and spread lemon and/or salt to taste...
