It’s the first time I heard of such dish, though I haven’t tasted that but it seems sumptuous as you described it. Anyhow, quick meals are good alternatives to those who are suffering from an empty stomach; after all, this really satisfies your hunger. Thank you for sharing this discussion.

I've never had it but it sounds good. I love almost anything that has jalapenos in it. I have had something called a walking taco which this reminded me of it. it was a bag of fritos with chili and cheese in it. messy but good. I was at an ice cream shop and seen it on the menu and thought the name "walking taco" was funny and I liked fritos so I ordered it. I would say it probably would have been cheaper to just make it myself but it was good. I love simple meals. having a large family (I have 5 children, and one on the way) I go for the easier recipes. we'll have to try this sometime :)

Hi jahernandezrivas, No, I haven't tried Mexican food before let alone Frito pie. From what you've described it must taste delicious. Anyway as for me whenever I cook it'll be a packet of instant noodle plus some vegetables and an egg. Simple and delicious and above all it fills my stomach. Have a great day.

Pray tell what are fritoes? Someone talked about tater tots as well. I can guess those would be made of potatoes? I don't use processed foods i.e. foods that come in a package so I am not completely sure. I guess you made what we would call a fritata. It is made by slicing potaotes very very thinly, blanching them in boiling water, draining them, putting them in a baking pan, layering them with onions, peppers, maybe corn and or spinach and topping them with a good amount of freshly shredded mozzarella cheese. Some people also add a couple of whisked eggs and bake the whole thing about 30 minutes. Good brunch or supper dish with a green salad.

I don't really like Fritoes that much but I have made things similar to this with Doritos and my family usually makes them on holidays. I've also made a similar dip to this with chili, cheese, and cream cheese. You should try adding a little bit of cream cheese to your next Frito pie.

I have never had it, but it sounds easy and the ingredients are yummy. I make a lot of quiches, pies and puddings in which the ingreding that makes the rest stick together are beaten eggs. Peppers and onions are some of my best loved ingredients.

Well, dear friend delicious! just for a change, here's a further discussion, regarding the food. I must say that you are really a foodie. From what I read now you're beginning to get tired of always having to think about cooking and have some ideas on what to do with the meal. Then you have opted for a quick meal, which is a fried cake. From what I've read, it was to your liking. There was also by case for your husband to taste what you have cooked? And he, what does he think about the fact that you are now tired at having to always think about cooking?
