Do You Actually Read The Postings

April 17, 2013 1:55pm CST
Evenin' I noticed this recently after returning from a spell away. In fact I am big enough to admit that sometimes I skim a post an comment on the gist of it... I usually get away with. Some of you are not reading the posts before commenting. I posted a discussion about inappropriate language being used in front of my kids... BY ME It really had nothing to do with swearing in front of the kids. It was about speaking different languages in the home and my attempt at speaking German goes no further than asking them to Assemble a firing squad and execute the prisoners. Anyway, I worded it to bait people in... I caught quite a few. Half of them told me that I shouldn't be swearing in front of my kids Being a polite gentleman, I felt it only fair to reply and thank them for not reading my posts. So I have come to the conclusion that I can write anything here, because most of you will not see it. I think I will fill the rest of this discussion out with ranting and gibberish - see if anyone notices. Do you think they will? We do put effort into our posts, the least you can do is read it it before commenting. I mean, what is with those people that that say my dog or cat is one of the family? One of the family? Why does the little furball pay rent or bring you breakfast in bed? Does it do the shopping? NO it doesn't. Why do our homes have doors and windows? It is to keep the beasties out. Don't invite them in. It is easy to spot a dog owner. they will be the one walking around with animal crap in a bag!! Does no one else see the bizarre nature of this at all? Don't get me wrong, I love animals and we should do everything we can to protect habitats, But lets be honest - Animals belong outside. That is why the little buggers are always scratching the door to get out. Then there are white folk with dreadlocks - MY. GOD. some middle class halfwit has listened to Bob Marley and now they think they are Jamaican. Nothing looks more stupid than blond dreadlocks. Quick joke - How does Bob Marley like his doughnuts? With Jam in If you have read this far and choose to comment, please start your comment with YES ROB. Very good. Is it me or has Mylot become a little quiet in recent weeks? Does appear so. I am actually thinking of my supper as I write this, wondering what to have. I have had a look in the fridge and there are some yoghurts - I am 6ft tall and 14st, yoghurt is no good, I need real food. I should nip out for a kebab maybe. What about I pop in a little French? Je suis Anglais. Bonjour, combien pour deux kebabs s'il, vous plait? Nothing more to add. I suspect the ones that put these posts in the old Google translate may suspect that it is broken - Dreadlock and crap in bags? Ach Mein Gott!! Well that is me done with a pointless post - I wonder how many folk will say - I always read the postings of members... and then prove they haven't?

I could not even do three. I cannot imagine wearing dreadlocks. I would be worrying about what might be living in them.

YES ROB....what were you saying? Only spark plugs are on special offer at Aldi this week and I expect that you will not be remotely interested. Saves on dog poop bags because you can just fling the stuff in the back of your hatchback and leave the dealer to clean it out next time you have a service. Dread white locks on non Jamaicans reminds me about a girl and three bears.....

Ask no questions, tell no lies Have you ever seen a gentleman doing up his Flies are a nuisance Bees are worse And that's the end of my little verse. I got slapped hard for saying this at the age of four years old. My big sister told me to do it Are we now going into Peter Pan land?

Yes Rob, I do read the posts. I read a lot more posts than I respond to. I keep myself entertained that way. I have skipped supper so far, as I over ate at a buffet at noon. I am actually at work right now. I made the clients pork steak with onions and carrots. I sliced cucumbers for them and peeled a clementine, and made a few fries. I tend to over cook. That is why I am so pleasingly plump. I was not going to work tonight, but something came up and I was needed. So here I am. I do not speak any foreign language, not even to round up the prisoners.

Pork steak and onions? That sounds quite nice. I gave up smoking last year and I noticed that I was putting on a little weight. I tried to eat low fat foods for a while, but lets' be honest - if I have to live to rest of my life eating low fat rubbish, then what is the point of life?

@robspeakman I agree with this sentiment, but the truth is, that rest of your life you were trying to live? It may be much longer if you try to eat healthier, at least, sir.

I admit that I sometimes scan the discussion and then reply. But for the most part I do read them. And some discussions have a few things in them to reply on. Sometimes I replay on one aspect of the discussion and sometimes on all aspects. I understood your post about the languages. but again, they way you wrote it people will reply to it in different ways. I like the rant you posted here also. The dogs and cats. Maybe they should pay rent. Maybe they should be taught to cook and clean. Then they will earn their rightful place in the home as we all do. Dreadlocks are not for me. I am not jamaican. LOL. Hey Now!!! As for the different languages you wrote in, I don't have a clue. Good post my friend.

Yes, Rob, but I do have a few questions. After reading your entire post, I am still a bit lost in there... I am obviously a newbie, so I am not too sure how to answer a nonsense post... Should I try to continue with your... uhm... attempts at humor? Or should I just ignore this thread and continue on my way? (If I knew how to use emoji's here, I would have used a smiley face after humor and the question mark. I wrote this just so we are both clear on my attempt at follow thru humor... Did it make you smile?) Now, for my questions about the... interesting post (above). I understand your comment about how tall you are, but what does 14st mean? I do understand you speak at least a small amount of English, but will two kebabs be enough for a person your size? I live in an area of the U.S. where you may see many... let's call them interesting items, to be on the safe side, shall we? But blond dreadlocks? No, at least, not yet! Thank you for the... mild entertainment. I quite enjoyed trying to entertain you back... even if I didn't answer all YOUR questions.

I think you found this discussion from the You Might Also Like panel on the right side, right? Just to let you know (in case you're not aware yet), some of those listed are old discussions. They're there randomly based on the tags used on the discussion. (Rob's last activities on here was over 2 years ago)

@DaddyEvil You're right - it shouldn't make any difference and the earning algorithm works on any active discussions no matter when they were submitted. Not sure I completely understand what it means when you say the site does not pay you. Do you mean you don't see any $ amount under your Earning Summary page? I hope whatever the problems are with your earning on here get sorted out soon and you can enjoy your stay here much more.

I think most of us have been guilty of the skimming thing...i KNOW I have and been caught at it a couple of times. For the most part though, I do read through. I definitly do not just read the title and then respond. I'm more apt to not read through all the comments prior to responding. I did read through this one and you are right...it is a completly (well almost) pointless post.

Yes ROB I have read you discussion, but to be honest with you, you lost me after the dredlocks, which I don't wear any way, I hope the next post, that you post I will be able to understand where you are coming from, and where you are going because right now I am truly lost.

to be honest I did not really take any notice what I was writing myself - I am guessing gibberish
