it is very unbelievable! how come our bill in electricity soar that high. more than half of the percentage of the usual payment we had in a month. i mean, when our payment the other month was less than P1,000.00 then last month, we paid it more double. i mean, most everything in the house which being mobilized by electricity were broken. our washing machine - it is not spinning no more. our rice cooker is not functioning at all. we do not have an ac at house. our water pump has defect as well. another thing; supposedly, our payment would be minimized because everyday, blackout occurs for three hours and rarely sometimes it would happened half a day. it is unfair. i guess, the reader of our consumption only made guesses. it happened like that. the next time, we will watch whoever is assigned here in our place. or there is a thing such as advance reading. which is which, that is very irritating! cannot be really understood. what about you, how much do you pay for your bill in electricity? does it compensate with your consumption or do you have the same problem like us in the house :(

We don't have that much problems as compared to you. Last year we got a raise in the electricity per unit and it is moderate. We used to get a monthly bill of approx. $20-25 on an average basis. However, this month I think it will be more because we used the A/C for the full month from 10 pm to early morning. Also, the bill is on a monthly basis and the reading of the previous month metre reading will be photoed on the bill and we can measure the consumption also. When the elec. board people come to read the monthly unit consumption they will take photos of the reading and will print on a black place of the bill. So, we can make out the reading and unit per amount and can be calculated. They will charge nominal fine if we do not pay within a week time of the disbursement of the bill. For the last 2-3 years, the Elec. board has introduced the new electronic machines hence the possibility of faulty bills are rare in chance. But there are one off cases around. You need to check with the authorities for the reason and take an average of previous 4-6 months bill and if there is a major change in the amount and your consumption is moderate or relatively less, you need to be inspected the meter unit.

taking a picture out of it is a good idea to do. by this, no one can deny or make any assumptions or excuses about the reading. it should be fair you know, it is hard to earn money and just spent to a thing only. gosh, the electrician changed it without our permission. then, suddenly all the bill surged to much something higher. i hope it will be resolved soon. it is getting expensive each month and already become a headache to us

I think you need to talk to the officials who come to take the reading and find out where the problems is. If the find that they are erred in somewhere and can put a complaint and claim to reduce the rate as per the earlier bills. Here also, once it happened that the meter was out of order and my neighbour got a bill of almost 7 time more on the bill. However he paid only the average amount considering the last 6-8 months bill and the rest of the excess amount they reversed. So, you also can prepare a letter to them showing that the meter is faulty or the personnel done some error from his side. Anyway try the best solution and try to NOT to pay the additional charges they have levied from you. thank-s

one reliable person from electric cooperative went in our house to disconnect our electricity connection, imagine that. it was advantage for us because instead he will do his duty, he heard complains from us. so he backed-out and told us that we will do the complaining in the office. my momma will go there to pay and to complain as well. it should be resolve because the bill is purely unbelievable. whoever will be assigned for reading must do their duty promptly and just make guessing. that would be the worst part of their job. they are putting everyone in annoyance.

Our last bill was 111 but 58 of it was for the water pump, we pay for four houses on that, so our electric was only 53 for the month. We have a 6 bedroom house so that is really good.

whoa! outrageous, more than to that! and i do not know how each meter would do the counting of electric consumption. or it is the meter man's fault why the bill is as big like this. i heard many complains or inappropriate reading or advance reading made by them. gee, work work work properly

I think it's one of two things: 1- A defect in the electricity meter. 2- Increase the price of electricity. If you are sure of your suspicions in the electricity bill, you should call an official from the electricity to check the electricity meter.

If you suspect that the new meter is the cause of the problem, simply ask specialists to examine this meter.

the increasing of the bill started when the electrician from the electric cooperative changed the meter without our permission. my mother hesitantly agreed at first because she thought it will give no problem at all. and it was already late when she knew that the meter was being replaced with new one. but she chastised the man for replacing it without asking permission. they said that the country will experience increase of payment because it is hot and summer here now. at least, that was they are telling us. but half percent of increase is still too high. it is still heavy to the pocket to deal with this all. i hope it will be resolved soon.

It varies but we have always had a very high electricity bill. We have a large family but we still don't believe the amounts sometimes. Even when we cut back and turn things off that use electricity, our bill is still too high. We sometimes have a $300-$500 bill if not more. It is very easy to fall behind on the electric bill in our household. In my area there is only one electric company so they have a monopoly. They can practically charge is whatever and there is nothing we can do about it. They have worked out payment plans for us in the past which I am grateful for. I still believe that it is wrong how they have a monopoly and they know that they can charge us whatever for our electricity because we cannot switch to another company. Another company does not exist in our area so we are forced to stay with them. We try to turn off all the lights, T.V.s, fans, dryers, anything that is not in use. We will also unplug things that are safe to unplug. Recently we even thought about hanging our clothes to dry instead of using a dryer to save on electricity. It's just too high for us to pay it so we have to cut back anyway we can.

we tried that exercise to unplug unused appliances. here in our place, we only have one source of electricity. and so how i wish that there is another one source of it so that the charges will be modulated. but since there is only one who supplied us current, there is nothing we can do to lessen the bill if we think it gets excessive already. what we can do is to monitor and to be a concern citizen, at least by doing this, we could show that we care and we pay attention to their system for the benefit of the mass :)

You power cost seems almost reasonable. My electric bill is roughly $50 a month. That is roughly P2000.00. However it also depends on how much power you are using.

I don't think the electricity consumption in my house is double the figure as last month. As matter of fact, I already try to get to bed early at night, and I didn't plan to spend extra hours in front of the computer either. So, I guess that electricity consumption in my house is decent. If you have doubt on your bill, you should consider call them to re-examine the reading on your electricity.

good for you that you are naturally controlling the electricity consumption in your house. last few months, we only paid lesser even we are using computers. but to our amazement, our payment suddenly increased more than a half percent. we need justice for this ahah

that is why, we suggested that if one worker will do the meter reading, we should watch him, not to let him feel he is untrustworthy but to be sure that he do it right. it is because there are cases here that they will not read the meter accurately and will just estimate how much will you supposedly pay based on the house and more if the would know what appliances do you have inside. but what about all of it were broken and not functioning already. how should it be fair if the game is like that. or else, sometimes - they read it in advance, like you will pay the next month consumption. what is that magic, you are not consuming anything yet and no reading but you are already paying, huh! justice, i need that badly.

We have a fridge, one tv, a dvd player, 3 electric fans and 4 light bulbs. We use the washing machine twice a week and our monthly bill averages at 700php or $17.50. However, since it's summer here and the weather is too hot, our monthly bill for April sky-rocketed to 1200php or $30! Our bill is just normal but we still need to cut down on our consumption because I still think that is too much for a family of 4!

you are right, but still be happy about it, that is not too much and if we have the same payment as yours in there, i will jump for joy! but still, we need to conserve energy because in the country, the source of water is getting dry because of the hot weather. also, we need to conserve to lessen the bill we need to pay. there are lots of things to be prioritized first rather spending your money to pay for the electricity. if that so, well that is too bad and saddening event :)

We had just talked about electric bill consumption a while ago and my office mates just had experiencing what are you experiencing right now. Well, for me, I cannot say or I cannot tell something about our bill because I am just living in the boarding house. My boarding fee, water bill are already package while the electric bill is separated and as I noticed we were just paying not greater than $37.5 per month.

good for you that you are not worrying about the electric payments. it is really hard to budget nowadays. too many priorities to be paid first. if you will neglect your current bill and not pay it, disconnection follows, so we have no choice. it is okay to pay because that will tell how good you are as a consumer but also, they need to do their duty promptly :)

Here in Mindanao, our electricity also soar up even though they are many power interruptions the reason behind it that the Lanao lake the source of the electricity level gone down and rotational brownout is applied, more over the price hike is due to fact that to answer the high demands of electricity the NAPOCOR or FEBICO had to buy to other private generating companies just for demands thus, the increase is really needed. So, our price increase was been publicly announce and a public hearing was ask also for the consumers. So, I guess its the best to be informed. right?

you said it right. if that is the case, all of the members should be informed and not leave us hanging. money is not to be picked anywhere in such an easier manner. for this time, we need to held our belt tighter to save some for future expenses of purposes. that is why, it is our right to be informed and to be treated well. if so, employees should do their honest task and in return we will be a dutiful member or consumer during pay time. all should go for a hand in hand concept for a progressive communication and partnership for the country's development :)

This summer since kids are on their vacation, my bills including water and electricity are not surprisingly skyrocketed. I am not surprised at all because we are not fond of going out because of the terrible heat outside so they spend most of the time inside the house watching tv and cds, playing the internet and everything that they do to make our bills so high.

all of us are here in the house as well. we do not have a plan to go somewhere else for there are lots of priorities we need to set first for some realization for a purpose. so that's it! we have three pc's at home, but still i do not believe why our bill is so high for the last month's reading nor neither know what happened behind our back. if the fault was made by a person who read the meter or to the meter itself which is not consistent in reading the electricity consumed by us. which is which is not appropriate but what we know is that we will complain and let them check what really happened :)

Even I am also in situation where I think I am paying some extra electricity bills. Even though in our flat only two persons(me and my friend) are living, monthly we are getting an amount near to 2000/-. I can't understand how we are utilizing this much electricity. There is no washing machine as it is not in working condition. The only thing that we use is the refrigerator and geyser. For almost half of the day no one will be there in the flat and at those times the electricity consumption is almost zero. Still I didn't get the source of increase in our electricity consumption.

Well, we have received the last bill on consumption elettricd by an amount equal to 175 Euros. It is too much! Almost all due to the fact that my younger brother, who suffers terribly from the cold, he kept his electric heater turned on almost all day. Except perhaps for this particular, we, in my family will not have to pay cospique funds involved in precisely of the consumption of electricity. I should point out, however, that the electrical equipment in our homes, there are many.

so i may say that the reading and the bill are just appropriate to the consumption of electricity in your house. it should be that way, i mean; we will pay because it is our obligation to do so but i hope it compensate it all. how could we pay this bill that so much to our awareness, it must be lesser than that. we do not have ac at home and most of our appliances were already broken. they should work properly and promptly.

We have all electricity so ours is high. We also have long hard winters so it can get up 233 dollars. I looked at a bill from 2002 and it was only 46.00 dollars. I think my daughter had moved and since my husband is hot blooded I just put on more heavy sweaters and kept the heat down so he wouldn't open windows. My daughter is cold blooded so he opens windows now. I check on the windows all the time to see if they are opened and I check on the heat to see if she has turned it way up.
