may 1, non working holiday... would you still work online?

labor day is celebrated worldwide. it's a non working holiday for all of us. but would you still work online?

Hello dagami. Yes the 1st of May is supposed to be a national holiday and by officials it is in my country as well, but it is only free for people working for the state (like teachers and post office employees). My dad worked about 10 hours at least today so he did not enjoy the privilege of a free day. All the best to you and enjoy your day (freely ;)) PS: yes I am going at it online, but seeing how at the same time I am watching a television series I don't really consider it as work.

it's a non working holiday here in italy for both the private and public sectors. i didn't even go out of the house today. i had coffee and immediate came online to mylot. stayed the whole morning here, ate lucnh and slept for three hours. (i'm taking antihistamines because of pollen allergy and i feel sleepy). now i've just had dinner and mylotting again. i'm taking advantage of the last few earning hours. they said the new site will be launched tomorrow. it's still almost 2pm mylot time.

the one thing i've learned about people who work online is that they don't take days off. they even work more during holidays.

I know you are a Chinese. You know we have worked for seven days and therefore we can have three days off work in the May holiday. Since I will go to my husband's hometown in May holiday. I can't access to the internet at that time. So I must say that I am unable to work online.

Sadly, i work in an environment where we are not covered by holidays So on may 1, I'll be in the office working my butt off . But hey, that means double pay anyway so it's cool with me.

this is the only thing good about working on holidays - double pay. i used to have a job that demanded that i worked during holidays too.

On my side of the planet, May 1st is a regular working day. As a matter of fact, it is my first day of work.

Unfortunately, it is not my dayoff. I have to work on 1 of May. Also, I will do work online too. Have a good dayoff for those of you who have 1 of may as a dayoff.

Yes i still have to work since i work in a private company, maybe i will work on half day only, and still work online since it is a home based work and very comfortable with me.

i guess for some work is unavoidable. at least you will be earning more since the law provides that you will be paid for the holiday too.

Hi dagami! For me who is always busy with my offline job, weekends and holidays are perfect time for me to devote more time with my online activities. So since I have no other appointment during that day, it would be best to devote it to work online and earn additional amount. Have a great day!

i'll plan on spending the day in the same manner too. even if some of my friends have expressed plans on going out for a picnic, i can't because of my allergies to pollen. i'd rather stay home and on mylot.

yes, all your family will be together since they're not working on this day. i don't work on other online sites so i guess i'll be here in mylot the whole time.

i'm not going out either because i avoid getting exposed to pollen nowadays. i'll probably be seated in from of my computer the whole day too...
