Moving, Hope the Cat Likes It

Princess kitty my beautiful black eleven year old spayed female has been spoiled this last year by my sister. She gives her way too many treats, and fusses about her and tries to make her come in when she does not want to.
Usually Princess was hubby's cat, and in the winter she still sleeps on his feet.
Next week my sister moves out to her own apartment. Princess will have a little more freedom. I may have her get a good check up, as I have wondered if all the treats have made her diabetic. She will also be "looking" for my sister, who hardly ever moves out of her recliner.
Then, sometime between now and October 1, we will be moving to another town. This is the only home Princess has ever had. I hope she likes the new place. I know it will take some transition time. Since we will be with her, though, I am sure she will be okay with it.

I found some information about helping your pet cat adjust to a new home. I hope you won't have too much trouble though.
Moving might be one of the most stressful life activities you’ll ever encounter. However, moving to a new home might be even more stressful for your cats. There are three phases involved in the moving process--pre-move preparations, the move itself and set

@GardenGerty I was just about to talk about how I've read how to acclimate your pets to a new environment.

I had a neighbor lady named Princess, and the people on the other side named their German Shepherd Princess as well. She always said it was to annoy her. (the person Princess)

@cupkitties link is very helpful. When I moved into this house, I locked up my 5 cats in a room that we weren't putting anything into, except them, some food and water, and their litter boxes. After we were as settled as we were going to get for the day, I went in and spent some time with them. Because we weren't going to have anything else large moved into the house, I did open the door, put a couple of the boxes where they were going to be, and left them the room if they wanted to hide out. Most of them came right out to explore.

We will probably move all the large things before we move ourselves and the cat. I did get some perspectives on things I need to do for her.

@GardenGerty that's pretty much what we did, except that it was harder to lock them up at the old house. What we did was when we moved the electronics over, we moved ourselves and the cats over.

It will be a while, and I do think she will be fine. I wonder about me, I have not moved in thirty years.

I think everyone has pretty much said all the things I wanted to suggest. The only time that I can remember us moving a pet is when my great grandmother moved down here. Then when she passed away the dog was moved from my grandparents to my mom's house. He was sad for a while after but perked up and warmed up to my mom real fast.
Hopefully Princess will easily adjust.

Naturally cats are very naughty sometimes . In the Ground Floor of my apartment , few days before a cat delivered five litters , It is very nice & so cute to see their behaviours .. They too believe us ..
