I Just Cannot Seem to Win

I am extremely sleepy right now. I get this way every evening. I fall asleep sitting at the computer. Usually by the time I go to bed though, I feel wide awake. In the middle of the night, I feel alert and bright. When I need to be doing stuff I am so tired it just seems stupid. We could go to bed now, and probably should. I guess I could hope to fall asleep. If I get too awake I could always come back to MyLot.

oh, same thing here, I felt really sleepy at times I'm working online but the moment I get myself off to bed it takes hours for me to fall asleep,really wide awake..

I get that way too. I am the mother of a medically fragile son so I don't sleep well at night anyway. I have to keep an eye on his breathing and such but that just makes the day more work and makes me more tired so I'm falling a sleep at the keyboard.

I know about taking care of someone who is seriously ill. Whether it is a child or an adult you are always listening with half an ear to hear if they need anything. You must be exhausted.

Have you tried using melatonin? If you go to bed and can't sleep then take one. They are natural. Also a couple of calcium tablets may do the trick. If you like cherries eat some before bed. If you are tired during the day be sure what you are eating is good. Protein and such is good energy food. I have two family members with issues. And, I have sleeping issues. I seem to go in a cycle. Sleep for four or five hours and then I am awake for awhile This goes on for a few days then I got to sleep soon after dinner and wake up really early and can't go back to sleep. It's crazy!

I do use melatonin from time to time. I take cal/mag/zinc. Cherries are not always in season but I will eat dried ones as it also helps with pain.

It sounds as if you really need a good night's sleep. I sleep now with my television on as it soothes me to sleep.

My husband has to have something on. He says he always has, even as a child. We went from using a radio to the tv because then we have light when we need to check on my son.

Darn this trying to sleep or stay awake business sometimes! I just can't stay up anymore to be on the computer - my body won't let me. And for some reason I'm waking up at 5am lately - too early for me - but I'm wide awake! Darnit!

It seems that you tend to sleep in front of computer than in bed. I would usually fall asleep in front of my laptop while working. With several years of working online, I already adjusted to having a few hours of sleep in a day. Maintaining two jobs , online and offline is kinda hard but needed.

That happens to me, too. I feel sleepy early in the evening and by the time I am in bed, I am past my sleep and feeling wide awake.

I know that feeling. I get tired and then when I get up to go to bed, I cannot seem to fall asleep. But other times I just fall right out. I know I haven't been eating right the last few days and I have been sleeping way too much.

I have simply given in to the fact that I find it hard to sleep. In my bedroom I have a tv so no matter what the time if I can't sleep I turn it on and get out my laptop and do some work.

I try not to do that as they say it disrupts your sleep even worse. I would be more likely now that my sister is no longer living here to go ahead and come down to work on the computer.

Doesn't matter. You take rest whenever you feel like and work when you are wide awake. Actually am too a bit of your type. When people are awake, I sleep and I wake up when everyone are in their dreams.
