Today Morning My Spouse made five Pooris for me .. It is made of Whole Wheat dough. She prepared it so nice. I ate all the five . It was so yummy . It is basically a North Indian Food item . But some South Indian people also eat rarely .. I think some of myLot members here knows Poori well

Poori is a common item in South India too and it is prepared in many households and is available in all the restaurants. It is a favourite dish in our house and I prepare at regular intervals. Onion, Potato curry is the best combination as side dish for poori.

Is it like a biscuit or bread? What do you eat with it? This picture looks delicious.

Nice post! Poori is one of the favorite items in our family. When one cannot think of any other option in breakfast, it is the best bet along with white chick peas. I love to take Poori but as these are deep fried, I try to minimize my intake of Pooris. One feels thristy after eating Poori and one does not feel like taking lunch, if one has taken it in sufficient quantity during breakfast. Having said that I understand that your spouse is a good cook and she takes care of your gastronomical needs. You indeed are a lucky guy.

@writerjo - You should continue to enjoy Poories prepared by your wife, as and when you get an opportunity.

Hi, My mouth is watering...it is one of my favorite breakfast dishes too although I don't make it often these days because it is fried ..I promise myself that this coming Sunday we are going to have poories and aloo bhaji for breakfast instead of the usual Idli/Dosa/Upma ...

Wow, you ate five? I can only take two the most. They're so filling for me but I enjoy them. You're lucky you have a wife who cooks for you all the time.

@Unforgettable_Raja I think I prefer if your mom make the pooris instead of you. @writerjo If that's the case, I guess you can have more than five.

You are a lucky guy. . I usually prepare suji ka halwa, aloo bhajji and puris for Sunday breakfasts but we do end up eating a lot and feeling sleepy and lethargic. It is a heavy meal but really delicious.

I thought that sounded familiar, but maybe it's a different Indian bread that I have made, but mine didn't puff up like that. It's more like a flat bread. But it's ALL GOOD.
