A Season of Change

My daughter-in-law secretly has wanted to be a weather person. She is fascinated by forecasts, and storms and the whole nine yards. If there is something I need to know, she will tell me as she reads it on FB. She has told me we are gonna have lots of snow this winter. I do not doubt it. I looked at the Virginia Creeper out the bathroom window. The fingers of leaves are turning scarlet red, already. It puts on the brightest blue berries and is full of color. I just feel like the season is creeping up on us a little too quickly. Soon the Bradford pears will have shiny scarlet leaves as well. I was wondering if the seasons are changing early where you are as well?

The weather forecasters are saying that there is an El Nino forming that will be very strong. I have heard they are calling it Godzilla. The temperatures are supposed to be about normal around here, but we should have extra moisture.

Nah, not yet. It is getting colder at night though, which is usually the first sign of fall. Fall is my favorite season and I am so looking forward to it!

It is cool enough we sleep with the windows open instead of air conditioning. I like that.

@GardenGerty Yeah, too bad I only have 1 window and an a/c unit is already in it... we'll take it out soon though, real soon.

The season is not changing early and it didn't last year, either. We didn't get snow really until January. Then it started snowing and didn't stop until May. We had record snowfall. They are predicting the same this year.

It did seem the last two years that the snow we had lasted much later in the season. You are not too far from the ocean, right? I do not think we get much snow every year, just some years.

@GardenGerty Yes, by the ocean. Usually, that tempers the snowfall unless it's a nor'easter. But we've had some very heavy snow years lately, with just one in recet memory that was warmer and less snowy - that was 5 winters ago.

It has been going this way for a while now. The way it is raining just at this moment as I am typing has never been so ever. It is just pouring with a vengeance so to say.

So it sounds as if you are having some variations away from normal, with extra rain falling.

Here is late... it should be rainy season here all wet and rain but nope still sun and heat. I think that's what we called global warming or climate change.

We only have Rainy and Summer climates here. but even this rainy season there are days were it's way too sunny and hot for me to cope. but some said summer is better than winter were it's cold all the time, i wonder if that's true. have a nice day

I like having a variety of seasons, but have had more trouble with cold in recent years. I am ready for the heat of summer to be gone.
