What would you miss if you had to live without the internet?

Some time ago I listened to a psychologist who talked about teenagers and internet safety. He shared a story about a mother and her daughter. The mother told her daughter she didn't have a computer when she was a teenager, and she said that she used a typewriter instead. Her daughter replied: ”But mom, how did you use the internet without a computer?”
The story made me smile. The young generation take the internet for granted. It has always been there, and it is a normal part of their lives. Those of us who are a bit older grew up without internet, cell phones and all those things. I use the internet in so many different ways, but I remember what it was like before the internet.
If I wasn't able to use the internet I would miss fast and easy communication with friends from other parts of the world and easy access to all sorts of information. I would also miss the extra money that I earn from online writing sites. What about you?

Without Internet I would be jobless. As you are aware, I am ill and dont go out of house to work. So I work on the Internet and earn to pay my Internet and Medical expenses. So this is going to be lost if there is no Internet.
Next, I will lose out on all the great friends I have met via Internet - specially via MyLot - as a bunch of these friends stayed together over FB too.
And also, Whatsapp will not work - this would mean I will also be cut off from my school time friends.
All that said, I do believe without Internet I might be forced to step out of my comfort zone and this many a times can bring out the best in you(so in my case, it might be doing good too).

It is great that you have the chance to earn money through the internet. Without the internet that option wouldn't exist. You have told me before, but I don't remember exactly what kind of work you do on the internet?
Yes, we would lose the online friendships without the internet, and that would be very sad. I have found lots of great friends on the internet, and it is wonderful that it is possible to communicate with people from the other end of the world through the internet. In the past I had to use snail mail letters when I wrote to friends from other countries.

@rosekiss It is great that it is possible to earn money online. Like you I don't earn lots of money online, but I am happy that online earning sites exist. I would miss my online friends if I wasn't able to use the internet. It is really nice that we are able to talk to people from the around the world through the internet

I would miss earning if there were no internet, as I am retired, and I don't work outside the home. I like the freedom I have to be aple to search for things on the internet. If I didn't have the internet, it would like be using an old friend especially mylot, and I am having way to much fun to let that happen. My earning on the internet are notall that much, but if I didn't have the internet, to earn from those sites. I hope that I never have to find out what it is not to have it.

What kind of website do you have? I also play online games sometimes, and I would miss that. I like to relax that way if I need a break some other online activities

@Porcospino thanks! If you like strategy games then you should definitely try the Age of Empires, Castle Siege. You can download it from Windows 8+ store :)

I would miss my online friends, my online writing sites and my favorite online Facebook game, FarmVille. (I know I am a geek for liking that game) Ha Ha!

I would miss my online friends and my online writing sites as well. I know FarmVille from Facebook, but I have only played it a few times. I usually play other kinds of online games.

I would miss pretty much everything. I use it for Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family, I use it to look up stuff and I also use it to watch my shows. I also use it to keep up with a lot of news and latest stuff. I could honestly say it would suck for me to have no interent. I freak out when my Comcast goes out. But then it gives me a chance to read or actually go outside I guess lol.

I feel the same way. In the past I lived in a village in the countryside and our internet connection was pretty unstable. Sometimes we weren't able to use the internet for a long time and I missed it a lot. Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, and would miss that as well if I had to live without the internet.

I also neglect things because of the internet for instance old hobbies in the real world, but in my case I think that it would be hard to go back to life without the internet. I would miss a lot of things and I would lose the extra money that I earn through online writing sites.

@Porcospino It would be really hard in the beginning, but people can adapt to most things and I'm sure you could learn to be happy without it if you had no choice.

Same as you, I'd miss the fast and reliable communication that I currently have with friends and family. I'd also lose the extra earnings that I get on-line. Although, it ain't much, it definitely helps.

Having a low salary, I make a little extra online. I would also miss the news, because I don't watch TV and I could do my work at my job. And I watch many football(soccer) games on the Internet.

@rappeter13 I do the same thing. The internet is not my main source of income, but I do earn some extra money that way. It is great that we have the chance to increase our income through the internet. We might not make a large amount of money that way but every little bit helps. I own a tv, but I don't use it much. I usually visit online news sites instead.

I would miss earning money. It is easy for me to do online and it is best because I have a lot of children and daycare would be crazy to work outside of the home. I would also miss keeping in contact with my family who doesn't live close to me. God bless.

Online earnings sites are great. They give us the chance to earn money while we stay in our own home
I have earned money online since 2008. It is not a lot of money, but it all helps. Yes, the internet is also a great to keep in touch with people who live in other areas.
