Trump Wants Everyone to Stump Extemporaneously

Donald Trump has a new idea about running a presidential campaign. Donald Trump says we should outlaw the crutch of the teleprompters for presidential candidates. He thinks they are unnecessary and you don't get honest answers. He may have a point. Because when they use a teleprompter, all they have is talking points. The Donald thinks that all candidates should speak off the cuff. Like he does. No speech, no notes, no teleprompter. Of course, some people question whether or not this has been a successful strategy for him. But maybe if we saw the unfiltered candidate for who they truly are, we might be better able to make our choices. Whether or not you like Donald Trump, you've got to admit the idea has some appeal.

Honestly, I do not like this man, but this idea is a great one. If candidates are unable to give a spontaneous speech, without external help, they are not mature enough to be the President of the United States.

We all know that they go through extensive training and practice for debates and interviews. At some point, they must be able to rattle off an answer to anything and everything. I think it's time to do away with speechwriters, let them say their own words.

I don't care if people use them or not, but I really don't think Trump is doing well as a speaker. He's a bully and says a bunch of bully garbage.

But if he used carefully crafted speeches, what would you know of him or whether or not you liked his ideas? Perhaps they all need to speak plainly so we know what they really think.

@Rollo1 If he used more crafted words his views would be the same but we wouldn't come across as a bully so I think he would have even greater of a chance to get into office so in his case, let him talk. As for the others, you can tell bull from bull in most cases. If you are in a debate what isn't scripted than your answers can't (or shouldn't) come from a prompt of any type. I usually know what I think of someone no matter how fancy and well thought out their words are.... (research is my friend )

He does have some good ideas. I just do not think others will comply.

No, I am sure they won't. But it's nice to think about. The idea that candidates would be candid, and not rehearsed and not reading to us but talking to us. I like the idea.

It really does make a lot of sense although I doubt it will ever change.

I think he knows that no one will follow his example, but it's a way of hitting out at the other candidates without actually saying anything bad about them. People will be waiting to hear others say they will do the same thing, and when they don't, they will conclude that Trump is the most trustworthy.

@Rollo1 I think you are right and he is really smart for saying this.
