Waiting on a Schwan's delivery today

I joined Schwan's Online Grocery website about a month ago. So far so good. Yes, you pay a little more than grocery store items and you pay a delivery charge, but - so far the meats we've purchased from them far surpass the quality of our local grocery stores. We love our beef and we don't like spending money for meat that we can't even chew. Enter Schwan's.....
So far we have not had to trash (or feed the dog) any of their sirloins steaks which is a huge savings right there. Another good thing about Schwan's is that you get points for every dollar you spend and those points get translated into money that you can use toward a future purchase. I'm saving my points until I get enough for a nice hefty savings on an order.
Also, and this is another biggie, if you are an AARP member you earn even bigger savings! It shows you on their website where to sign up for that benefit. Plus, they have sales and other incentives. I received an e-mail offering me $5 off any order over $25 so I basically got $5 worth of food for free. I placed my order and it will be delivered today.
If you live in an area where the grocery stores don't have the items you love, try Schwan's.com and you might find what you're looking for.

I order from Schwans. My husband actually works for them too. I think that the prices are very reasonable. Considering you are saving time and gas money and you don't have to go out and shop. When you figure out the cost per serving it is actually pretty decent prices I think.

the prices are reasonable for sure, but then there's that delivery charge LOL which really adds to the price - but you get money back in the long run. So far so good. I haven't tried the chicken pot pies yet, they are in the freezer waiting for a good day! People I've talked to say they are expensive, but those are the folks that think bologna is a high end food!

Several years ago, I used to get boxed individual pizzas and pirogis. I couldn't really do any Schwan's shopping because of my almost erratic work schedule. That's pretty cool that you can earn points to use toward savings on purchases later on.

I ordered lasagna for my husband, if he likes it then I can order him other Italian foods - he is fussy about the sauce! The points don't get added until after they del. the package (UPS delivers) so I'll know later what my point total is.

I enjoy schwan's and since moving here with my sister we have had some of their meal items. It was for a time too expensive to buy much except maybe some ice cream as a treat although I think things will turn around so we can have more of their food again. I enjoy it.

The chicken pot pie is probably the best around for pot pie! I haven't tried the lasagna

I did try the lasagna finally. I didn't like it that much for the price you have to pay for it.

Yes, you wrote about this on Persona Paper. My neighbor ordered from them awhile back and there is a delivery truck that delivers in some areas. You said there is no delivery truck in your area, so it is shipped to you. One of these days soon, we just may try ordering and see how it goes.

Hum that sounds very interesting. I'm always disappointed when I go to the grocery store

I stopped using them. The steak we got was tough. They had a recall on a pack of veggies I bought but they wanted you to return them..and that was a pain so I just tossed them in the trash.

Some of their items look good, but I definitely consider their prices to be expensive... and for the record, bologna is a cheap, disgusting pseudo-food as far as I'm concerned.
If my grocery stores were less conveniently located, I might find their services a better value for the money. As it is, I have two major stores within walking distance of my apartment. One of them has great clearance deals on meats in the morning, and the other has been having issues with ordering in the produce department which means that they're marking down a lot of things that aren't selling fast enough. What's available can be completely random, but we generally get a good assortment of things throughout the week.
