Kitty Cat Oddities

My older male black and white short hair saw a bug on the ceiling several nights ago. Ever since he's been stalking that area at dusk, chattering and trilling at the ceiling hoping more will come out so he can meow at them to jump down and get into his mouth. I need to get a video next time I catch him doing it. They're so odd sometimes.

I love it when they chitter at critters! My cats will chitter at birds and squirrels, of course they are inside cats and the critters are outside!

@Hugospal I totally agree its adorable. I've had them do it at bugs, but never at a bug that wasn't there. I'm going to guess Hugo is more intelligent than some cats, because he both remembers the bug and is hoping to lure another one out!

Both of mine do it when they see a bird fly by but this is the first time I've seen him do this at nothing lol. The chittering sound is extremely adorable though and I wish they did it more often!

@ElicBxn hehe, too bad bugs don't usually work that way. I haven't seen another one.

and then you find yourself late for work because they're doing something interesting at 7am...Mine do it on purpose as I'm trying to walk out the door.

I had a kitty that would sit on the window sill, refuse to go outside but chatter at the birds. She contented herself to catch flies and pile them in neat piles on the ledge. She was a timid cat and never willingly went outside after we moved to this house.

Mine don't go outside. We live on the third floor in the city. They can dream though.

My cat likes to bite the legs off crickets and leave them lay. Their only crime- coming into the house.

Mine aren't usually killers. They bats the things around until they die accidentally or crawl to safety.

My cats do that a lot too especially when they see birds. But when they go outside, the don't even care about the birds. They are so strange ! ;)

My cat loves talking to flies and loves to chase them. She probably would do the same thing.
