Going to See the Vet Next Week

Over the years I have had several occasions when my pet has become ill during the State Fair. This is not a good thing, as my vet is heavily involved and not very available for emergencies.
Last night hubby had a dream about our kitty Princess. He feels like his subconscious is telling him something. He made her an appointment for next week as it is not an emergency. Our plan was to take her and get her a checkup before moving anyway.
Her behavior is a bit different but I feel that it is in response to our different things we are doing. My sister is not here, we keep taking stuff away, etc. I question if her health was seriously affected by how many treats my sister insisted on giving her, in spite of us asking her not to.
Princess, of course, does not know she will be taking that little ride, but we wanted her to be seen before the fair starts this year.

Have to agree with you. Have seen a few episodes of Dog Whisperer and he feels that way as well. Makes sense. Poor things. They are pretty much dependent on us to make the right decisions for them and keep them safe and healthy.

At this point we are saying that Princess will be our last pet as we like to travel and it is not fair to leave her behind.

I do think animal behavior is affected by what is gonig on around them and change in their humans' daily life. But I also think it makes sense to have your kitty checked out. I know several instances where friends did that with their pets upon intuition, and it worked out to saving a pet's life.I think Princess is lucky to have astute owners -- better safe than sorry!

Thanks. Hubby dreamed about heart worm and parvo--he dreamed Princess told him this. I have been wondering if she is diabetic. I do know that I will probably start making her food when we finally get moved. Those treats were nasty and sis would give her so many she would throw up.

At least we will get her in to see the vet before the fair. I like my vet and have never been pleased with others here.
