Do You Like Berries?

I like wild berries, especially raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. In my garden I have planted raspberries and blackberries. I tried several times to grow blueberries but I have never been successful. Today I have harvested a good quantity of blackberries, they look so nice, all fresh and shiny. I wonder how to serve them. I cannot decide if to make a cobbler, a pie or simply to serve them with whipped cream. Do you like blackberries? How would you prepare them? The photo is mine, the blackberries from my garden.

I always need some sugar on my berries as I never find them sweet enough.

@marlina I do not like to add sugar to fruits, I prefer my berries as is.

I do like berries, although I rarely buy any these days. Of course we both know of an old lady in Switzerland who likes them. In fact, she enjoys them so much that she often sneaks around quiet secluded gardens to steal a few.

LOL, I am glad that my berries are not faced toward the little road, nobody can reach them without entering our garden (that is fenced).

@Asylum It's hard enough to take are of those bushes, you have to prune them all the time or they spread everywhere. It's not an easy task because they have thorns.

I love berries and love to eat them fresh. Cooking kills most of the nutrients in fruits. Wash them and eat them is my policy.

@LadyDuck I love berries with cream but now I am off all fats. I just use few drops of olive oil in my cooking.

You are right, it's a shame to cook berries. I had most of them fresh with a little whipped cream.

oh my! those look so fantastic! mercy, there's so many choices it'd be diff'cult. i rarely e'er made it to the house with 'nough berries to make much 'f anythin' when i lived where such grew wild. ate too many, lol. 's fer those blueberries, they're fond 'f high acidity in the soil, if ya aint got that naturally, ya can add coffee grounds. changed my mind 's i can nearly taste a simple blackberry crumble with homemade ice cream meltin' on top... now see what'cha went 'n did?

A blackberry crumble with homemade ice cream is tooooo goood. I like any kind of wild berries, it's a shame they have thorns.

I love blackberries! Those sure look good! I would eat them straight from the bowl! I love all kinds of berries. Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries. I could eat them all!

The only way I have ever eaten blackberries is to pluck them off the vine and pop them into my mouth. We all loved to do that when we were kids.

I i want to taste those blackberries of yours . I envy you for having these fruits in your garden. I love berries . We also have some similar berries , it's black outside but when you eat it , it's white and a bit reddish inside and oh so sweet !

I do not know the ones you mention. There are all black, even inside, they are not very sweet, but they are very good.

wow, I love the thought of berries. I found them cute and lovable :D but I know berries only grow in cold places. So I am just feeling sorry because I cannot have them in our garden like what you have there at your place ;)

I don't like them but I do not dislike them either. How big is your yard? And how big is the surface of that the blackberries in your yard occupy?

My garden is about 1500 square meters. I have two bushes of blackberries, they do not take a lot of space.

I was able only to save a few to add to the frozen yogurt I prepared later in the day. I also like them as they are and hubby too.

I love berries. We used to pick blackberries off trees in the park near my house in summer. I always love eating berries, in yoghurts, pies, raw and especially in jams.

I grew the blackberries from a small piece I "stole" in the woods. The thorns are horrible, but the fruits delicious.

I suppose that it's too hot in your area. Berries need shade and mild temperatures.

I absolutely adore both raspberries and blackberries! I like to eat them by themselves or mix them with some frozen yogurt!

I have made frozen yogurt last week and I have mixed in a cup of blackberries, it was delicious.
