Trying to find time for everything

I have been working 55 odd hour weeks the last month trying to get the credit cards paid off. I don't like owing, and want to get them gone again. Once that is done, then I can buy a Christmas present or two a month. I don't like to wait until last minute on those, money is tight so I have to spread the burden out. I have hopes that myLot will help me with this year, as will the rebates and couponing. Every dollar I can stretch helps somewhere else. The downside is all that work leaves me really tired. Today is my first day off since last Thursday (I work 10-12 hours days) and I am super tired. I usually do chores each evening, but haven't had the energy. So everything is super behind! So I am doing online stuff, and playing Neverwinter (more on that later, love online MMOs, esp good free ones), and every hour I make myself get up, and get something done. So far today I have unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher once (I need to unload again, so it's ready to go once more). I have done one load of laundry and have a second ready to go into the dryer. This will put me at three loads that need put up, that's a chore for today. I have cleaned out the puppy's crate (as he has to be crated when we are gone or he freaks out and eats everything. and I do mean EVERYTHING). I just need to reassemble it. Other things that need done today or tomorrow, make taco soup (may post on that, awesome easy recipe), shampoo carpet in living room, and mow the front yard. It is so hot I if I do that one (yes, am in Texas, so yeah hot), it will be at dusk. See? I don't have enough time! Of course, I find time to write, but that only taxes my mind.

Your day is full but it sounds that you are organized and manage to get everything done. Sometimes I lose track of time when I am online and I forget to do laundry or wash the dishes for example. I tend to postpone things for the next day. However I have noticed that when there is not enough time, we get more tasks done because we are in a working mode all day and want to complete as many as possible.

@Jessicalynnt Alarms won't let you relax and they will keep you in motion. Good idea. @Butchcass4 Me too, and then I feel amazing because I have achieved to get everything done in a limited time frame.

This is true, we know we have limited time so use it more wisely. I actually set alarms when I am online, to remind me to get up once an hour and go do stuff. Speaking of.... lol

Thanks for reminding me I had a load to put in the dryer ....... now I'm exhausted cuz you worked 55 hrs in a week, it reminded me of those years when I was too pooped to bother with stuff, and I was a data entry operator so the just cuz my mind and fingers were all that moved when working I was still pooped when I'd finally get home ....... dang, I'm so glad I'm retired.

I look forward to the day I can retire, or quit, or at least go part time. I don't mind working, I hate working full time+

55 odd hours a week is a little too much but then, when you say, you do it for a reason, I can understand. At my end, I stay online for about 16 hours a day - as I am working from home. I also do some household tasks as my wife works at school and is away for most of the day. I keep hopping in at MyLot at intervals looking around what my friends are into. MyLotting is more fun than a regular work - I look at it as a chat between friends.

It's too much for me too, but the bills are just as stressful. My goal is to end the month with less on the credit cards than we began the month with. Even if its only a few dollars, eventually I will get them caught up. On my days off I am online that much, work days are harder, but I may have to focus this as my first bit of online time, I am really liking it.

K has been working hours like that for a while with the personnel cutbacks and increased reporting requirements. And then I'm the one who gets sick two years into the school year.

Those kind of hours certainly do stink, I know I get sick more working that much, then share that illness with hubby

Lately I haven't had enough time in the day either and it's all because of a tiny dachsund puppy named Daisy . She is so hyper and into everything so I am constantly running after her. I will be so glad when she gets out of this stage.

@Jessicalynnt I know exactly how you feel and I just told my brother that I don't ever want another puppy again. I'm just getting to old.

yeah.... one of my bosties is a puppy. I honestly don't think I will ever get another puppy, I like senior dogs more, I just don't have the energy to deal with another one like this. He is either going hyper speed, or asleep and the sleeping part can be interrupted at any moment for more hyper speed.

@simone10 I have had dogs before and kittens, but this is my first puppy, and maybe my last... because OMG. The energy is what gets me. I need one that's less gogogogogogogog, passout, gogogogogogogog. etc

@Jessicalynnt good then you know..would hate for your discussion to get deleted for a mistake.. one friend just did all these recipes and they were all deleted..of course this was from years ago here..

@Rosekitty yeah I assumed talking about cooking, mentioning ingredients and such is ok, as long as it's not just a recipe. is what I did, that would be ok on bubbles, so hopefully here as well.
OK, so I just finished up making that taco soup, and I promised to write on it. It is what many like to call a dump and dash recipe. The only real cooking you...

I figured as much on the soup, I just talked about what I used, and the stuff I put in it, but didn't just pop up a recipe. Bubbles was like that too.

I can totally relate to this. I spent most of my time either working or doing or maybe thinking of alternatives to get extra money. My hands are full of taking care of my bills to the point that I thought sometimes resting is a waste of time. Time is so precious for me and I just don't know how to stop sometimes.

@Jessicalynnt Yeah! I guess its always a bothersome if we have to catch up to our bills to the point that we can never relax unless its all paid.

yeah, the worst part is when you know worrying isn't help, but you waste your personal relaxation time on it. I've had to come up with mental tricks like a box for worries, and permit myself to close the lid now and then. Reading helps, because I can focus on it alone.

@joygracia which I have found is...never...there is always another thing to worry on, so you gotta find a way to shut that off, at least for a few minutes here or there.

That is what I keep telling myself. I have however, gotten the dishwasher unloaded again, and reloaded. I have taco soup done and simmering, and the last load of laundry I am doing today in the dryer! (I can only do 2-3 a day anyways, or I risk taxing our aerobic septic). I still need to put away said laundry (my least fav part of the whole deal), but hey, it's a few more things!

Wow - and you still made time to appear here! I did a similar marathon a few years ago and am so glad I did. I now can save money again yet it always feels like I need more! (For many years Visa and Master Card were my child support...)

it helps me to make a huge list and every hour or so I go do like a couple things. dunno about today, strained my back mowing, so it will have to be easy things that don't require me pushing or twisting now
