Working a weird week

I work Thursday through Sunday normally, about to head in for a day of OT cause bills yo. Ahem, people often comment on my odd week. But I love it! I don't normally have to take off days to go to the doctor, and I can get things done because everything is open. The only downside is I am not free during people's normal go out with friends time, of which I have none, so that isn't a thing at the moment, and I miss festivals and garage sales. That part is a little sad, but eh, whatever. What about you, do you work odd hours? Normal hours? If you could pick a shift what would it be? Why would you pick it?

I do not work odd hours, all my life I have worked from 8 in the morning up to 6 (even 7) in the afternoon. My husband and I are self employed, so we work many hours.

@Jessicalynnt This is a reality, but in exchange you have the freedom to decide to skip a day if needed.

I do work odd hours in a way. I work from 4pm weekdays and finish late and then work 8am on the weekend.

Id hate a rotating shift like that, messes with one's sleep cycles

I think it's good to have days where you can get things done and only having weekends off makes that harder. Sounds like your schedule works for you, but maybe you could still manage some evenings out with friends?

If I had friends maybe, no friends, so no one to go out with.

For the moment, I'm a stay at home. I don't really have an odd schedule. Unless you consider being a mom a job (which can be in a way). If you consider a job, then I'm kind of always at work.

I don't work currently, apart from being online. I did work 27 years at one place and worked nights for more of it.

I think I am going to drag my son with me to a few yard sales this weekend. I have only gone to a few this summer and the season is almost gone.

I miss going to things like that, but at same time, no fun alone.

Right now the job I have is so up and down with the hours. Last week I worked 42 hours, this week 27 hours, next week 16.5 hours, then who knows. I have been looking for another job as I can't keep going week by week hoping for decent hours. I don't mind the job, I work in a pet food store.

I started off working the grave yard shift so my husband could watch the kids-at night. I now like this shift because you get more done with less people in the store.

yeah, less headache and more just working. Plus less management being all, I need to throw my weight around because I am management!

My "official" schedule is 3pm to midnight Tuesday through Saturday. However it never works out that way and I am on salary so I don't really have much of a choice. For instance, on Tuesday I have a meeting at 11am and one at 1pm and am in for meetings early every day. I also end up working some on my days off as well. Sunday and Monday off are ok for me as it gives one weekend day and also one week day to take care of appointments, etc.
