this about hummingbirds? They can fly both backwards and upside down. All their eating and flying costs them a lot of energy. Wings flap as many times as 80 times a second. Heart beats 400x a minute when not flying and when in flight about 1000 a minute. Their wings flap up and down when in flight while other birds fold their wings half way through the flapping motion. They have to feed every 15 minutes and they can remember which flowers they have fed from. They feed on flies for protein to build muscles and replace feathers.

No I did not know all that about hummingbirds.
They are such lovely creatures.
Wonder what their average lifespan is.

The North American species have a life span of probably about 3-5 years.

yes, they do and their heart beats get down to about 40 beats a minute. Takes them about a half an hour to wake up.

no i sure didn't know that but it does make sense i never could figure out how their buzzing happens and it seems like their really fast i do like watching them
