Clearing The Notifications and Suggestions

I love it that I have cleared out all the old and done notifications , since last weekend , after about more than 30 minutes . Now , , whenever I open my account , I know that those in my notifications are those that I wasn’t able to see while I was away . Same goes to my suggestions . So every time I am done with some notifications and have chosen the suggestions I don’t like I delete them . And when I am done with those suggestion I like , I delete them too. Neat !

@SIMPLYD I like to keep it clean and it is interesting to go through the notifications to check if we missed a comment or a reply.

@Anna...this is exactly why I tried to stay on top of mine, but for whatever reason, they just keep bouncing back.

I don't clear notifications, they are useful for me to jump to an old discussion, and they are automatically deleted by the system after 7 days. Not deleting them, I miss times to times a comment or a response, especially when I check them in the morning when I have a lot : nobody is perfect. I have not deleted the suggestions, but I will probably do it soon to keep only the last ones until I have responded to the suggestions I would like to respond to.

So it's deleted after 7 days . But then after that time , the notifications will be too long already . Besides , i trim down the kinds of notifications i will be getting too in my email . At least you have your way with suggestions .

I also delete those Notifications which merely informs me that a user has 'liked' my post and those where some post has been suggested and I've attended to that suggestion. I agree with you that if our mail box has lesser number of notifications, we could ascertain which are the current ones, else we get lost in the sea of notifications.

So, now you won't get frantic seeing a lot of them . It's now pleasing to my eyes that my emails have lesser mylot notifications .

I never bother with notifications, I don't have that kind of time. I knock down all suggestion because they are redundant..I would have already responded to those posts if those people regularly interact with me. I do look at an odd suggestion here or there.

I read that the notifications are cleared automatically, just as @topffer says, so I don't bother. I do clear my suggestions though, after I've read them.

Yes, I've never seen it as I delete all of them, but people say that they "disappear" after a few days.

@SIMPLYD The trouble is that I left it too long before I realised that you could delete them, and now it would just take too long.

I do the same thing. I have a little bit of OCD and just can't stand for them to build up. It drives me up the wall if I have a day when I can't get to them all.

I do this constantly. It can be all too easy to open up old visited links otherwise, but can be very frustrating.

@SIMPLYD Of course I would, especially a few hours later. This is precisely why I clear the list after use.

And would you agree that we tend to forget if we have already read the comments when they are still in the notification ?

I clear out all mine every day..post to the suggests and notifications and then delete the suggests after i'm done..I quit suggestion my discussions cause it seemed to upset people so now if you try to find my newest discussions you have to find them in Most recent..

I don't get upset seeing the suggestions . In fact i like it , because i get to choose which one i would like to read and comment back. The rest i would delete without going into them anymore.

I do mine the first thing when I come in, and I delete them as I go, so I don't get mixed up, as I end up going back to the same discussion I just did. It is much easier for me to do one notification, go back and delete it when done, and go on to the next one.

@SIMPLYD Sometimes I get way to many to not delete them as I do them. I get confused, so it is easier if I delete them as I go.

I love the way MyLot does the notifications and these suggestions. I like that we can delete them after we read them and comment. Unlike other sites I use, their notifications stay there. They just grey them out. They all should give the option to delete.
