Getting them confused.

As a kid, I used to wonder how my parents could get my name confused with my sister's, and vice versa. Sometimes, my mom would call me by my sister's name, or she'd call my sister by name. Our names don't really sound the same. It was something I would ask myself. I didnt understand it at the time.
However, now that I'm a mom, I now understand a little better. I will mix up my kids' names. I think part of it is because I say all of their names a lot in a day. Sometimes, it's because I'm thinking of another one of them, while I'm talking to my eldest for instance.
I have a better understanding of what my parents went through, and this is only one of them.
Did any of you wonder about this?

That would happen to us as well. This discussion has reminded me of a story to tell.

I do not think I wondered, but I was amazed at how mom even managed to make us confused. I had two sisters and a brother, mom had a sister and four brothers. We might get called any of those names.Lots of choices.

My mom didn't, but my aunt - whom I used to be very very close with before she got married and has own family - keeps calling her daughter by my name. I just like to think it's because I'm very special to her.

I really liked the days when I had all boys, I could just say BOY! and they would come, that all ended when I had my daughter though, so I had to start saying KID! yes, it happens to me too, I feel bad when one looks at me and says, my name is....I have to play it off and say, yes I know, I named you!
