Tonight is Suicide night at the County fair What that means is you get in free and all rides are free..you get to be the guinea pig to see if they are in working order for the paying customers tomorrow through the weekend.. Would you take the chance and test the rides knowing their might be something wrong with the ride? Not me..you'd have to pay me unless its the carousel..Now what could go wrong with that?

@Rosekitty I used to love those rides when I was young, but that's a long time ago. Last year a friend wanted to go on the Big Dipper but didn't want to go on her own, so in a moment of recklessness I said I'd go with her. Big mistake - I've never been so glad to get off anything in my life. That's one of the times I did feel my age (I'm in my 70s).

Ummm thanks, but no thanks. I no longer have an interest in fairs. The kids are grown and the appeal to attend them is no longer. I sure wouldn't be a test subject for them.

@Rosekitty Last one I attended was 7 years ago, it cost us $20.00 each to enter and simply walk around. So $40.00 to get in, then buy the 'fair goodies (you know the fair junk food)' which were pricey also. I haven't had a desire to attend another one.

I definitely would not be the one to be the guinea pig. Let someone else try it and see what happens.

I would rather wait until it's safe. I tend to have a Final Destination thing going on in my life.

@Rosekitty I would hate to be in a bumper car and get impaled by a sharp piece of metal that bumps off the dashboard.

I wouldn't get on the rides even if they paid me, its definitely not worth getting hurt on them or dying just to "test" them for free.

No thanks, the rides don't appear to be safe and forget the carousel, I checked it out and all the horses pooped all over the place so I won't be getting on that thing. What a stinky fair!

I'd be willing to ride the Ferris wheel. I'm not unwilling to sit high up for a while and I'm not stupid enough to play around on it either. I'd've probably ride the Tilt-a-whirl back in the day, but now I get motion sick more easily.

i am just a little to old for rides, however, I love the carousel too. I still like rides at the fair, but at my age, I don't attempt to go on any of them as I am afraid I might breaks something, and by that I mean I might break something on me.

@Rosekitty It is, but it has gone into my lower back. It is hard to function sometimes as it hurts so bad, that I just want to scream. I am hoping that it will get better though in time.

Ohhh, that sounds scarier than any of the actual rides! Sounds like you would have to sign some kind of waiver stating you would not take legal action if something happens. Nope, not me - I have too much to lose! I love rides, and I love to take risks, but I don't want to take a risk on a ride as a guinea pig!!

I would rather not test the rides. My daughter who is already in her late teens may want to test the rides.

But I would imagine the owners of the rides wouldn't want to be sued for misadventure, therefore know they are already safe. What are the legal liabilities with such a night?

I don't go on amusement rides any more, if I am in the mood I might go on the wheel and the carousel. But I avoid the roller coasters, I get dizzy and I miss all the fun. Also, I wouldn't go on rides if they are not tasted for safety first.
