Good People and Bad People

I suppose it would be easy if we could divide the world up into these two groups. Then we would know which group to hang with and whom we should avoid.
Like the member of that other site who feels so bad that he got paid while others didn't, he's giving it to people who say they have financial needs. He's Good People.
Or the members who are low enough to ask him for it. They're Bad People.
But it's not so easy as that. That one's easy, yeah. But other things are more complicated.
Like the video I saw this morning of a jihadi suicide bomber crying as he prepared to perform his suicide mission. I felt so sorry for him. He was young, I don't think he wanted to die. I wished it wasn't too late already to help him. He was a killer, he was an extremist, he was a terrorist. But deep inside, he was human and afraid.
It's not so easy sometimes to tell the good people from the bad people and there's one simple reason for it. We have choices, we have good, we have bad. Perhaps that jihadist, if raised in a different environment would have had more of his good nature revealed. Perhaps if one of us was under extreme pressure, our bad nature would be revealed.
I know that is true. You might not see my bad nature a lot, but go to a crowded supermarket with me some time and hear what I mutter under my breath.
Good people, bad people, all people everywhere. What makes one person a monster and another a philanthropist? Nature? Nurture?
I think it's both sometimes. Sometimes it seems one person in a family is bad, and everyone else is good. Sometimes a whole family is bad and one child turns out good. Perhaps there is something in their nature. Perhaps there is something in their environment?
Maybe we all need to recognize that this dichotomy exists in all of us.
I want to hang out with the Good People, but I am afraid I am too Bad for them to like.

I think we can all be bad, and we can all be good. Perhaps we can't be completely good, because we are human. It is definitely the sign of a person refusing to deal with their bad nature, when they pretend to be good to some while being bad to others.I agree with that.

I have always wondered how good parents end up with a really bad kid, but I know it can happen. Oh, I think for the most part it's environment, the morals and ideas you were raised with, and around, but every now and then, there is a curve ball that just makes you think, what the?

unfortunately, from what i've seen/read, those young'uns 've not much choice in the matter. if'n they don't go 'long, they've a right leg 'n left hand savagely cut off? (could've that backwards) - fer others they threaten their families with such. jest horrid 'n unthinkable such occurs in these 'modern times'
's fer that person who's sayin' he'd share - bless 'im. fer those who're clamorin' to get such - a huge shame 'n scarlet letter fer 'em. aint his fault he got paid 'n they didn't.
i'm with ya, i desire to hang with the good 's well. fear i'm too salty 'n jaded fer such these days. big

I'd generally like to think that I'm a good person, and I do try my best, but as a fallible human being I've had my share of mess-ups and bad situations. I can't undo the bad things I've done in my life, but hopefully I have learned from those mistakes, and hopefully my efforts going forward to do good in this world will make up for those less-than-desireable times I've experienced.
