Ever rescued a burro?

Tons of folks rescue cats and dogs. What about the bigger critters like a burro or a horse? We bought a three acre place a few years a go. I love horses but am a tad stove in to be fooling with a large animal like a horse. But a burro. That could be a pasture pet. So when I spotted a burro for sale on Craigslist I talked my husband into buying the burro. Once we got him on our place, I decided I had best look into finding someone to tell me how his hooves were. I found a very nice lady farrier. Healthy hooves? She said no. Peter burro told us by his shying away actions that someone had been quite mean to him. He is gentle and a delight and for sure a responsibility. Anyone else out there living with a burro? I'm learning quite a lot about burros!

Okay I thought critters are essentially the insects!
And was lost on burro as well till I remembered some Spanish. Nope, those are very rare here. Last seen in my childhood days.

Lucky burro. Now he has a wonderful home, right? Is he still shy?
I know, what am I doing reading this old post, right? It's what I do sometimes.
Do you have any pictures of him?
Is a burro the same as a donkey?

That's cool that you rescue fur kids.. Most of them appreciate the effort.
