Back from London

OH MY GOD! It was amazing, I just wish I didn't have to come back to Portugal. I only hated the cold weather It has passed 10 years since I have been in London and it was fantastic to visit that amazing city again. It is huge and so lively. So many different cultures in just one city. I wish I could live there one day. Maybe just for 1 year or something like that. Just to have a different experience. What about you? Have you already visited London? If so, have you loved it as much as I did?

I'm English and very rarely go to London - I hate all the hustle and bustle.

I studied in UK for a year and I visited London a few times, I loved it very much. The last time was around Christmas and the atmosphere of the city was wonderful. I would like to go again soon.

@fufurinha I was studying in Sheffield. It was a few hours away from London by train but the tickets are a little expensive so I only visited when I could combine the weekend with bank holidays.

London was a part of our Europe package holiday. It turned out to be a fiasco. We landed there on a Saturday at Hotel Cumberland opposite Harrods. The check in time is in the evening we were told. We had keep our luggage in the luggage hold and spend our time in the lounge. Some of us got together and did our own thing such as the Wax Museum, underground train experience and some such things that we could do before we could check in. Ofcourse the breakfast at the hotel was super. We had just one more day and that is Sunday before we could catch our Euro Star train to Brussels, Belgium. Being a Sunday the Buckingham Palace was closed for the public. My dream of watch trooping the colour went down the drain I also wanted to shop at Harrods which again was closed. . We did see a bit - here and there - looking at the River Thames was great - took me back to so many poems based on that river. By 4 we were on our way to Brussel.

@fufurinha I have always liked smaller cities, not only now. Small old villages are my favorite, no matter in which country.

There's SO much more to our country than London. Try to get out of the city next time and see a bit more of the country.

Nope never been to London but have a good friend who lives there and tells me about it. She hears the boat horns on the river sometimes and says the weather is cool and rainy most days.

I loved going to London. I haven't been there in almost ten years. I hated coming back. If I could I probably would live there. I'll definitely go back though, at least for a visit.

You are lucky that you got a chance to visit London. I've never visited London but it is on my wish list. I understand that it is an organized, historical and beautiful city and many Asians (including Indians) stay in London.

I too like London, we lived there for six years and had to move out because of transfer..But I visited it last year and it is such a great city.I love the country side and we used to live in the suburbs where there was open space where I could take my children for long walks and they could play in the village green ...lovely memories !

I've been to London 13 or 14 times, I don't recall the precise number. I find the city fascinating but would never want to live there. Too many people, too much noise. Imagine having to go to work by underground or bus every day. Horrible.

@fufurinha You enjoyed the buses because you were a tourist. It's a completely different story if you *have* to use public transport in London every day.
