Trip to the Cider Mill

Today my mother and I went to find out about bricks for her community project. After helping her determine what would be best for the project we went to a cider mill we heard about that wasn't far from that location. Inside it had lots of apples, jams, cider, and of course, doughnuts! We got a dozen, 2 apple fritters, and 2 jugs of apple cider. Fresh doughnuts are always the best, and light and flaky compared to any made in a grocery store bakery. We got glazed pumpkin, sugared pumpkin, sourdough, peanut, cinnamon & sugar, blueberry, and maple walnut doughnuts. They were really good, but I could only eat a few before I had enough! When I was little we used to have a cider mill up our street and my brother and I loved going there. But it was too far off the beaten path and closed down when I was still in high school. There was something that made fall perfect by driving through the falling leaves, seeing the colors of the hills, and getting fresh apple cider and doughnuts!
