No shortage of pumpkins in my house!

Did you know there is a shortage of the type of pumpkins used to make canned pumpkin pie filling? There is, but that's OK. While it is my favorite type of pie at this time of year I know that the grocery store has a bunch of pumpkin pies in the freezer section if worse comes to worse.
I need to get in the basement and bring up my Fall decorations. The pumpkin in the photo was made by a friend of mine many years ago and it is my favorite. She lives in Indiana and mailed it to me as a surprise.

My mother used to make 'real' pumpkin pie, but I really prefer sweet potato pie if I could make one.

Although I do not make pumpkin pie, I do make pumpkin soup this time of year. I need to buy some pumpkin before it runs out
