I Got Excited for Snow

I got all excited when I saw a news article that said snow might be coming to New England this weekend. I quickly ran to view our weather forecast.
Darn it! Looks like it won't be cold enough here to snow. Close but no snowflakes. Rain, most likely. Northern New England might get some snow showers in various areas.
The great thing about snow in October is that it is a wonderful change in the scenery. It's usually the very pretty, large snowflakes that you usually only see on e-cards. And it only lasts a day or so. But the trees still have leaves, so the heavy snow puts a great burden on the limbs and causes them to bend low and touch the ground.
A few years ago, we had snow on October 10. That was pretty early.
What was the earliest date that you ever saw snow where you live? If you live in a warm climate that doesn't get snow, would you enjoy a snowstorm to change the scenery if you knew it would only last a day?

hey, aint'cha the gal who so despised snow last year??
its snowed here in july - honestly, in july. jest a few flurries, but 'twas most freaky. i reckon that'd be the earliest i recall in these parts. snowstorms means lots 'f work here - whether it lasts a day 'r longer. lots 'f critters to make sure're tended proper. do get some purty pics though!

I'm not ready for snow yet, and from the winter you had, I'm surprised you actually got excited!

@Rollo1 I didn't get to swim in July much! I wouldn't mind more summer heat to have gotten in a little more swim time.

I never get excited about snow because I usually have to drive to work in it and I'm a chicken.

We very seldom get snow, but one year when my son was about three , we had a fairly large amount of snow fall , six inches and even though that's not much for some, in Mississippi that is a massive snow.

Our weather has been so warm that it's hard to think of snow right now. I do enjoy it when it first comes, though.

I don't remember the earliest snow (month or year) but the older I get the less excited I get about snow. It's beautiful but once it falls the mess afterwards takes away the beauty
