Stitched Up

Faced with the challenge of getting two flower photos uploaded to a social media site that only allowed a single image on an article, I wondered how the pictures I'd taken moments earlier on my smartphone could be merged into a collage without having to dig out the laptop... Cue Google! Two quick searches later, and Zippy Photo Stitcher, an online tool, had the job done, the photos joined and resized to be visible in the article image header on the other website. Job done, all from the comfort of the sofa with nothing but a smartphone! Truly there are some clever people out there.

You can sure find whatever you need on the internet can't you?

And then some, t'is true... But what is it we really seek? To have the power to search, at your fingertips, is all very well, but how do we know when we have found what it is we really need?

And you are one of those clever people to be able to hunt out and utilise that tool. Well done.

I use 'paint' to do this. I have several collages of flowers, fruits, and pets. But I would like to see that extension that you have used.

@pgntwo Paint can be used offline and effectively too. Here is one. These are fruits that grow in my garden.

It was an online app, not an extension or app. Handy!

That reminds me of a Doctor, Doctor joke: Doctor, Doctor, this cream makes my arm smart! Oh, you could try rubbing some on your head then...

@SuezNewz2 Whoo - I missed the notification for that comment, Sue - wasn't ignoring you! On the laptop today, so skimming back through my posts to see what has accrued... Pup is growing fast - 10 weeks and into everything! He's even getting a bit of frolic out of the older chap now and then, despite his sore/stiff joints

It's great that you were able to find something that worked for you. I tried a site once that allowed me to do that but now I can't remember what site it was.

I use an old graphic program to make collages using different photos, but it is true that an online program can be handy.

Handy, dandy, and other things possibly ending in -andy. . The days of the "tools of the trade" being limited to a select few are gone.

That's pretty neat. I wouldn't even know how to search for something like that.

I think the job I do would be very restricted were it not for search engines and the tools and knowledge shared by other Internet "dwellers".

last time I wanted to join photos I used an app on my laptop, I wouldn't have thought of using my phone, but yours looks better than mine did

@pgntwo - Good one there - mating two pretties who had not yet even been properly introduced... If you want a handy "stitcher deal" for future photos that you can keep on your computer's hard drive, you can download "Photoscape" from "SourceForge.Net." It has a number of other handy applications to put to work on your images, too.

Hard drive? Those days are dwindling, I fear. It is all in the device I hold in my hand, at the wizard's fingertips! SourceForge.net is a handy repository of such useful utilities, true!

I wonder if a piece I wrote on Ciao some time ago listed that as one of the things that can be done with a smartphone, @garymarsh6? I may have to check!

There is a lot of free photo merging sites on the Internet that allow you to do this online and save it to your computer. Glad you found one to do this with.
