Henri Littière,a Baker in Paris had an unusual marital problem.
His wife had three affairs in as many months before he decided that something must be done.
although his loving was desperate to be faithful, she couldn’t help herself being drawn into affairs with other men.
Poor Henri, was desperate for a solution, and found one in a museum, engaging a craftsman to create a luxurious, velvet lined, Chastity Belt for his beloved wife.
Some time later, upon a visit, from one of her former lovers and one thing leading to another, when he saw the apparatus she was wearing, was so shockedhe went straight to the police.
Mr Littière appeared in court on 21 January 1934 on charges of cruelty, even though Mrs Littière testified that she found it impossible to be faithful,to her husband.
The judge was having none of it, and awarded the Baker a three-month suspended sentence and a 50-franc fine.

Poor Monsieur Littière, as his name was not enough (littière means cat litter). I am very surprised he was judged for something like this. For what I know this item is still sold in special shops in France. Adults can do what they want, it's a free country after all.
