Do you live in a Dead Zone?

Verizon Cellular phone used to have commercial's where the person would sit in some out back wooded place and get a or make a phone call. "Can you hear me now?' Well for all their so called network they and other phone companies still have area's there literally is NO cellurar phone service at all. I live in one of them and it has been that way for 15 years and seems it will continue this way for another 15-20 years. When our current president first came into office. Funds were allocated to put techology, cell towers and also internet into outlying areas and rural communities. Well that never happened that money was pocketed or used elsewhere and the promised and expected technology we were supposed to get never happened and worse they took away analog t.v over the air. We get it but had to buy a digital box and there are times it is spotty and we get about 7 stations some not clear. But no cell towers, and two internet provider's that throttle our use and charge high prices a month we pay $89 a month for Satellite dish internet and they throttle us for use we have to not over use and sometimes get warnings to cut back. We used to have service about 5 miles from us but the past 6 years it is now 11 miles before we get cell phone service. So we use landlines we have two in our house and have Virgin mobile a pre-paid top up card service we use in town it costs us $7.00 a month. It does us no good to get anything better because we would be paying for nothing. Does anyone else live in a dead zone?

I live in a comatose area. Half the time my phone won't ring. I just get voice mail. I have to go to our front deck to get the phone to work- and even then the service can go away and I have to call the person back and repeat and repeat. Awful.

Sure is wow you live in Washington too. I live near Spokane, It is awful three times this year we lost our landline for 3-4 days for the entire neighborhood which is dangerous as we live rural and in among timber. No one could have called for emergency help at all. Wire's were cut due to construction. Centurylink is so stupid they could not get all the area phones were out wanted to put in single order and ticket to repair a week later. Centurylink is the worst phone company ever outsourcing their calls to other states. So they have no clue how dangerous it is for us.

I don't use a cell phone. We have a land line through our cable company and that is all we need. I am a senior and we don't use the phone much. I did however get cable service about 5 years ago and it through Verizon. I didn't have a good experience and had to ride them pretty heavy to get a refund. I really hate all these companies. I was around when the divestiture happened and it was very sad.
