What are Your Halloween Plans?

Since I live in a retirement community, we do not have any children here. As a result, we don't get any Trick or Treaters. Halloween for us is very quiet. However, I still am planning to do a few fun things. * One of my granddaughters will be in a horse show where the kids will wear costumes as they ride their horses. I will take photos and show them this weekend. * My friends and I will take a walk around Balboa Island in Newport Beach. The people who live there go over-the-top in decorating their homes, as you can see from this photo I took of one of the houses last year. What do you do on Halloween ... or do you live in a country where you don't celebrate it at all?

I wish Singapore do not celebrate it haha! Well they do. A lot of people in costume roaming around the malls and it is really frightening me!

@wiLLmaH i can handle looking at scary people and even be impressed by their creativity, but if they growl, screech, touch or follow me, that would really annoy me.

@DeborahDiane And they know who is not afraid or not! And they chase the people who they knew that are scared of them. huhu

Yes, Halloween can be a little scary. I don't like people wandering around in costumes, either.

No one comes to our door, they probably do go to the downstairs door. I don't bother giving out candy anymore since it would require being at the other tenant's door. There aren't as many trick-or-treaters as there once was.

@DeborahDiane True it seems like parties are the thing to do now since it has become dangerous for children to go door to door.

I will write some more articles with pictures in the next few days. There are other houses on the island that are also over decorated!

Its going to be quiet here cause we're in the country. We probably will take Mom in for her church services per usual and go grocery shopping and maybe drive a bit to see some of the kiddo excitement. And food! Making doughnut holes with Mom for sure.

@DeborahDiane Mom used to be known for her home made doughnuts. I only have a stock pot not a deep fat fryer so for me its by guess and by golly. Shaking the goodies in a paper bag filled with cinnamon and sugar. That's the fun part.

First off I have to say the picture you have up is very nice and I like the images hanging from the roof. We live out in the country and no children come out her so we just have a quiet evening at home but we did buy a few small pumpkins and set them out on the table outside just for our enjoyment. It sounds like an interesting idea to ride a horse and wear a costume, I will be waiting to see that picture.

Here in Switzerland was not celebrated at all in the past. Halloween has been a little popular more or less 15 years ago and now nobody celebrates anymore.

While I enjoyed it when my kids were growing up, I don't really miss it now that I am older and live in a retirement community.

We live in student housing and won't get trick or treaters either. My brother and I will probably just watch Halloween movies on TV or Netflix.

No kids where I live either, although there are streets around here where kids are allowed. It's just, most do not have any here. Odd. I'll stay home and read my book, Suffragette.

I still take my kids out trick or treating and it's a lot of fun. We don't get a lot of trick or treaters on our road, but I rarely ever stay home that night anyway as I'm out with my little ones. My older kids plan to stay home this year and hand out candy.

In the United States, we have communities where no children under the age of 18 are allowed to live, and every house must have at least one resident who is at least 55 years old. They are full of fun activities for older adults!

I'll be working that evening as my children are grown and will be celebrating in their own way. I don't bother to buy candy to give out since we barely had any kids years ago. We live in the city, but on a fairly quite road in between two busy thoroughfares, I think for that reason parents either didn't know this road existed, or wouldn't let their kids cross the two roads at night. The neighborhood is small, so it's not worth parents driving kids here. I did a bid recently on a house decked out for Halloween. At the time I wished I had my camera in tow to snap a few photos. They also decorate the outside of their home in a similar fashion to how people do the inside. I've never seen anything like it before. When we clean their windows, I'll ask for permission to take a few pictures to post here.

It can be dangerous for people to wander around in costumes. You never know if they are good people having fun ... or dangerous people.
