M&M's Banana

55 Yesterday was Doritos and today is M&M's - I seem to build up a reputation of one junk food fan here... Well, I'm not sure if this is only available in Australia but we do have banana flavored M&M's here. They are yellow with some original milk chocolate ones in the bag. The banana-themed yellow colors come in 2 shades: a bright cool-toned yellow and a warmer golden yellow. I can smell the banana scent coming out of the bag and really taste the banana flavor in each of the yellow M&M's. This is probably another one of those seasonal or limited edition flavor. The tiny M&M's pieces are packaged in a pretty sturdy and thick yellow plastic. The packaging is also vertically oriented with a gusseted bottom. I was hoping it would also have a zipped top as I'm sure I won't be able to finish the whole 200g in one go. But it's alright, I can just fold the little opening on top and use a rubber band to hold the fold. The nice thing is the bag stands nicely on its own without collapsing when I place it inside the refrigerator. Over all, I'm quite happy with my purchase of banana flavored M&M's.

I haven't seen that variety around here. I do like the bag design, though. That would be a great improvement over the flat packs that you can't stand up and so everything spills out.

The pack seems to stand very well.

@Rollo1 And it's a much stronger plastic too than the flat packs I remember from the States which get torn apart easily. I definitely had to use a scissor to open this one. Too bad it's not zip-able...

you can get the pack shape in america sometimes, walmart has them with the candy, not with the mnms, which are at the end of the candy aisle, at least here.

Both kinds are good. But if you like banana then you definitely should try this one.

i haven't even tasted the m&m mint yet. learned about it from dawn and never seen it here yet. why 2 shades of yellow though? two banana variants? they mixed it with milk chocolate because it's hard to finish one i guess and i agree the scent can be overpowering. hmm, maybe they should add peanut butter m&m? i agree 200g pouch should be resealable. but why are you the only one in your family eating it?

I don't know why the 2 shades - just to make them more colorful and less boring, perhaps? Well, you know my first born hates chocolate - so he's out. My husband and the middle kids are not too crazy on sweets as in chocolates or candies. So it's mostly just between me and my baby - we take turns having 5 pieces or so at a time (these are so sweet ). It will take us forever to finish the whole bag...

@hereandthere I was just thinking along the same line since I could see the bag's going to sit forever in the fridge otherwise (even my baby seems to get tired of eating them already )

@sishy7 since you bake now, maybe add them to cookies, pancakes, cupcakes, etc. or peanut butter sandwiches (though i sprinkle raisins in mine)

Didn't see the banana M&M yet here in Canada. Don't think I would care much about the fake banana taste.

Not for me.. That sounds terrible. I would imagine it overpowers all the other flavours in the bag.

The bag only contains the banana flavors - well almost all, at least - there are some normal milk chocolate flavors in much less quantity. The pieces that came out for the picture would probably be a good ratio - something like 1 chocolate for every 5 or so bananas.

I really hate the taste of banana flavored anything (unless it is an actual banana), but I LOVE M&M's. Who doesn't? All that chocolaty goodness.

@sishy7 I live in Southern California, about 4-5 hours from Vegas. That is definitely a place that I'd love to visit!

Many prefer the peanut ones as they come in bigger pieces and we can really taste the roasted peanuts in each one.

Not sure about those, I love bananas too, but I often find banana-flavouring too overpowering (and you can be sure it isn't made from actual bananas)

Yeah, I figured that much. These flavors are often come from artificial flavoring...

Wow, banana M&Ms! I haven't seen those at all. I like bananas dipped in chocolate so I bet I'd like those M&Ms too. You aren't the only junk food junkie around here. No, wait.... am I talking about myself? I have to break the habit, or at least back off of it, after every road trip. There's a big bag of potato chips lurking in my cabinets even as we speak. I can hear the calling my name. OK, gotta go....
