Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow - somewhere else!

Watching the news earlier I saw that there were a few snow flakes in MN and WI...and I'll take a wild guess that MI probably saw some white stuff too.
You guys can have it all! When we moved from New Jersey south in 2001 New Year's Eve (2000) into New Year's Day - it snowed 32 inches. Our entire area came to a standstill for a week. We lived in a little house in the city with no place to pile up that snow. We had already been making plans to move south and that just was the final straw.
In normal winters here if we get 1 inch that's a lot. Last winter we got 6 inches, it didn't last long and it was pretty. It melted and life went on.
I hope 6 inches is all we get this winter too.

Snow has always evaded me during so many of our holidays in countries where there ought to have been snow when I was around. I miss snow.

Maybe you need to move to a place where it snows more?

I hope so too, thanks. I don't mind it getting cold, as long as the sun shines.

We had more than 100 inches of snow last winter. But when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade and when life hands you snow, you sell it on eBay. A local guy was selling boxes of snow from his backyard, and he was actually making money doing it. I guess it's all about finding the right angle.

Yeesh, after the last two winters, had more than enough snow to last a lifetime. As in a very long lifetime, not a short lifetime. Snow does have a certain beauty to it, I guess....if you don't have to deal with all of the problems which come along it. Ice is another matter entirely.
Of course, people freak out every winter, and somehow they lose the ability to use their brain cells behind the wheel. To me, that's the worst part of the winter. The people on the road who seem to think they can drive on the snow and ice like it's a bright day in the middle of August or whenever. Hoping for a mild winter, but....we'll see.

You got that right Matt. Down here people freak when we get 1/4 inch and they drive just as bad in bad weather as they do in good weather. They close the schools if it snows 50 miles away - due to the mountains I guess.

I'm with you. Let it snow somewhere else. Too old for shoveling snow. Lived in Maryland for almost 8 years. Had enough. Give me Austin, Texas weather. I'll look at pictures of snow.

They say we might get 10-14 inches - that's spread out over the whole winter so that' not much and we don't have to go anywhere!

@AbbyGreenhill Every year we go to Milan to spend the Christmas with my mother and the rest of our little family. She is too old to move, so we go, I prepare all the food the day before and we have this pleasant journey every year. I would not like to add a one hour shoveling before moving.

Since we don't travel a white Christmas would be ok, but I don't think it has happened here in many years - even then just a dusting.

That's sort of how I feel. We are too attached to our community to move, so we will just have to continue to deal with it. Last year was the worst winter we ever faced, so there's a good chance it won't be that bad again.
