It's sad when your caller ID stops talking to you!

We had just sat down to watch a TV show when the phone rang. So my husband muted the volume and we waited to hear the phone number from our phone with the talking caller ID.
But I guess the lady who usually says the phone number is mad at us, on strike or just tired of talking. Nothing, zip, zilch, nada!
Later I got the number off of the phone and then I knew who had called. Heck, it wasn't important, they can wait until tomorrow.
So I had a little talk with our talking caller ID, I tested it and the nice lady is talking to us again!

When the phone rings it announces the phone number of the person calling.

My parents years ago had a talking thermometer and told the weather report every 15 mins...it was so annoying.

@AbbyGreenhill wow, yeah, that would drive me nuts. Amazon has a thing now that you can talk too and it will answer you, weather, sports scores, play music, etc. would be ok if I talked first lol

It didn't let me down...I just unplugged the phone and when I plugged it back in it worked fine.

We only answer if we know who is calling no matter what time of day. I hate those computer generated calls and they keep calling and calling.

Well, I have no clue about the caller ID? What is it? I guess we don't have that here in Canada. Or I am just behind this new thing.

They are far from new...It announces the phone number of the person calling. Some of them announce the name of the person.

@AbbyGreenhill Is that right?! We don't have that at home. I guess I should get one. I like that one that announces the name of the person.
