I Found A Penny / myLot

Oh I do like finding a penny, although I know it isn't much it always makes me smile and it is another penny for the miracle money savings account. You know it is very surprising how fast all those pennies add up. Do you get excited about finding a penny or is it just me?

Recently the news had a story about a man who saved pennies for forty five years. Over five thousand dollars worth. There is a story about a well to do man who shocked dinner companions by stooping to pick a penny off the ground and he told them each penny reminds him "In God we Trust" and he took it as a blessing and picked it up. I pickup pennies.

Anytime I see a penny I will pick it up as I have a jar with a lot of pennies in there. I have other coins in there also and last I counted I had $80 so the coins do add up. Even though a penny is not worth much these days they do add up so to me it is worth bending down and picking up a penny that someone didn't want.

@Marcyaz we have just banked £7 from our penny pot

it also teaches the kids the value of money, I never understand why some people throw away pennies

Of course I am happy to find a penny. If I can find more than a penny, I would be happier! Even if the money is not in local currency, I still like it. I think finding money brings good luck!
